What a way for Wor Alan to go out, if it's true. Hope to God it's not, he deserves the rousing final sendoff at home against Chelsea.
I think they will set something up....where he'll come on/off at the end or beginning. Depending on the situation. He'll somehow receive his great send off that he deserves from the St. James crowd.
Anything less would be stupid unless he needs to be wheeled about. But no matter what, the supporters will be singing his name the whole match regardless. God you gotta wish you could be there to experience something like that. Take good notes, Graeme!
if u watch the high lights u can see the traveling crowd go completelyy nuts, damm i was kinda planing to got but wasn't sure i could get tix
Aye, great day. The first 60 minutes were horrendous, mind. It was the worse we'd played since Roeder took over. His tactics were all wrong. Dyer is not a striker and our central midfield of Faye and Clarke were terrible. However, unlike Souness, he saw the problem and changed it. I repeat - great day. (I survived as well. The club's buses were all full so I had to make my own way there. Many thanks to the copper who escorted me to the turnstile )
Nothing really exciting, unfortunately. The police escort to the turnstile was because the clench of sphincters I was walking amongst were being kept apart from the Geordies by at least two rows of police. A quiet whisper (I didn't want to advertise until I got into the ground, thank you very much!) to one of the coppers was neccessary to avoid being clobbered on the head by a baton if I approached the police cordon.
