    Teams:

NUFC:Given, Harper, Babayaro, Elliott, Carr, Ramage, Bramble, Boumsong, Moore, Faye, Clark, Solano, N'Zogbia, Shearer, Chopra, Ameobi (tbc) Luque.

As well as the already-sidelined Taylor, Owen and Parker, Emre reported a groin strain in training on Friday.

And Saturday brought more injury problems for Glenn Roeder, with Ameobi and Bowyer departing in the first half - the former for a trip to the dentists, the latter with a pulled hamstring.

SMBFC: we neither know, nor care.

    Ref:
Chris Foy - the Scouser's only Toon game this season saw him preside over the Manchester City away defeat that proved to be the final nail in the Souness coffin.

TV: Bugger all, for some unknown reason.

    -------------------

We leave the home of the great and the good to travel to the Great Unwashed for a 'relegation party special' on Easter Monday and I canna bloody wait. We haven't tanked the mackems in a long time and I think this could be the day. They've had their good performance of the season on friday so it's time for normal service.

Expect to see this a couple of times

They might get one (own goal or accident), but we'll get four or five. The drive continues.

This is quite simply the biggest game of the season for me. Bugger Uefa Cup qualification. If we only win one more game I would be happy if it meant doing the double over the mackems.

I have got a ticket for this one, but the free buses the club put up were all full. This means I'm having to make my own way there and back. Well everyone, it was nice knowing you!:D

1-0 Toon, Shearer with a wonderstrike.

Sun-lund will be playing for pride and against their hated rivals.

They'd be like a wounded tiger, I wouldn't put them down yet.

listening on the radio...maybe the most unbelievable turn of events i have ever heard - in any sport

    1-0 down, no life
1-3 up, incredible radio calls - chopra's 1st touch equals a goal, the annoucers are still explaining the goal, and they annouce a penalty for newcastle! insane

    same ole sunderland, always sucking

Zoggy is going to be a phenom! My saying is, he's our ticket to a $50 million transfer fee from Chelsea........is this the night that Chopra finally steps up to the plate? He played fantastic saturday as well!

Great for Luque. If anyone needed a Goal, it was him.

With the scoreline of this one and the Wigan game, it appears NUFC maybe able to start playing some attractive soccer again.

I was completely against Roeder as a fulltime manager up until that game. I think him working under a director of football would be marvelous. The backline has looked tons more organized in recent games and we are playing the ball on the ground again.

    couple other thoughts...

Sunderland now have Arsenal standing between them becoming the 2nd team ever in English football to go a season without a league home win...that's any division mind you

Also, after winning ZERO games after trailing 0-1 under Souness, they have now done it twice in 3 days

It's getting tight.........how amazing an effort to land a UEFA Cup spot! If that happens, does Roeder get the full time job?

Fantastic on both thoughts......dirty mackems. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long spiral that will see them hit the conference soon.
