Any one else think this is bad for the bundesliga? Or perhaps a a sign of Bayerns dominance of the german domestic game. They may not win every year, but when they don't they go out and get the best players and coach from the clubs who are supposed to be their rivals. I am very surprised by Magath, he has put together an excellent team at Stuttgart, dragging them out of medocrity to a top 3 team challenging for the title, as well as getting to the CL group stage and performing very well for a side with not a lot of european experience. Does he feel thats as far as Stuttgart can go? Or has he left just for the money?
I don't think it's bad for the Bundesliga at all. With Magath at the helm, maybe Bayern's stars will play with passion and as a team (they stopped responding to Hitzfeld), and we'll all get to see Bayern actually play some attractive football. Having another team (besides Bremen, Leverkusen, Bochum and Stuttgart) play attarctive football is always a good thing for the league, in spite of how many people hate Bayern. I can totally see Magath's desire to go to Bayern. He will have more talent at his disposal, a much bigger budget for new acquisitions, he'll be more under the pressure cooker, and his efforts will be more in the limelight. It's a step up to the big time, in comparison to Stuttgart, which always had and will always have modest ambitions. I've really liked and enjoyed Stuttgart over the last two seasons. It's been fun to watch their young stars emerge as a true power. But I'm very glad that Bayern got Magath.
I like it very much that Felix Magath goes to Hollywood. That never works, ha, ha, ha. Magath on the bench near Uli Hoeneß, wow, that's Thunder and Lightning. For or another season without title, so I hope. And then finally bye bye Bayern. This be a great day like today, Bayern wins nothing.
