Corboz with a great ball into the box to Grodowski. First shot saved by the keeper, rebound back to Grodowski, second shot hits a defender. So close to the go-ahead, but nope. Bielefeld more deserving of the three points, but may not get them as it's getting late.
Ridiculous goal for Furth on a long ball that was clearly an attempted pass. Keeper frozen anticipating a header on the way through, and by the time it came through, it was too late for him to do anything about it. Green somewhat involved in the buildup. 2-1 Furth.
Corboz with a spinning around lefty shot from the top of the box. Blind shot and he may just have been going for on frame. Succeeded at "right into keeper's arms." And now Hrgota makes it 3-1 Furth. Total smash and grab as they were outplayed badly in the second half until Julian Green entered. Chance of a reversal because of offside. Yup, offside on the initial pass into the attacking half. 2-1 still.
Now it's actually 3-1 and buried. With Bielefeld pushed way forward, Klaus receives at midfield and dribbles straight at goal and crushes it into the top corner. Yanks uninvolved. Unfortunate day for Bielefeld.
Bielefeld taking on a Schalke side who finally look like a promotion threat this year. Fell behind 2-0 in the first half. Corboz started, Young subbed on at the half as Bielefeld have closed to 2-1 and look for more. Young just received a long cross, chested it down, and the defender just grabbed him with both arms around his midsection rather than be beaten. Young actually didn't get the touch he wanted and might have been about to backpass, so not the best decision by the Schalke player. Yellow card drawn.
Corboz with what was approaching a career highlight - up the left wing, receives a long ball, chests it down, pops it across the 18 to himself, and fires a half volley that forces a great save.
Love Arminia Bielefeld's fight late on - their keeper just came out 80 yards from goal, won a tackle, and played a nice vertical ball up the sideline that led to a dangerous Young cross.
The comeback effort falls short and Schalke's impressive streak continues. Both Yanks with some nice moments but not their best matches overall.
