In the press, all of the players are saying they want the club to keep del Bosque.

The second story noted that del Bosque was wanted, "even down through the substitutes."

Solari was quoted: "He's been our manager for the last four years and in this time, he's been the most successful manager in the world."

It goes on to say that it's been hard to find anyone with a negative word towards del Bosque, with Pavon saying, "what am I going to say about him? To me he's been a great manager and you have to look at what he has achieved. Few managers can equal his achievments. In a short time he's achieved a lot."

Vicente Del Bosque señaló esta noche a la Cadena Cope que la indecisión por parte del club madridista para su continuidad sólo tiene una lectura: su salida a finales de temporada. "Todos tenemos sensaciones y yo intuyo que no voy a seguir, que lo tengo muy difícil para continuar. Quiero seguir en el Real Madrid, pero si a estas alturas no se ha tomado una decisión, creo que hay que sacar consecuencias", afirmó.

Del Bosque definió sus vivencias en el Real Madrid como "35 años maravillosos en el club" y negó que su marcha, si se confirma, sea con tristeza. Además, acusó a "alguna línea de opinión de la prensa" que, en su opinión, está "obsesionada con que a Del Bosque no le vaya bien".

El técnico del Real Madrid se defendió de quienes le acusan de "errores tácticos": "Yo no he hecho nunca como Alex Ferguson, yo jamás he dejado en una semifinal de la Champions a David Beckham en el banquillo" y recordó que a Luis Aragonés, entrenador del Atlético de Madrid, "le critican que hace alineaciones diferentes cada domingo, y a mí de inmovilismo en los cambios".

 

Strong words from Del Bosque for sure. I understand his frustration, he should be continuing as coach of Real Madrid but the club hasn't yet renewed his contract. I think he went to the press to exert more pressure on Florentino Perez and Jorge Valdano to get the deal done as soon as the season ends. Of course management is waiting to see how the year ends. If Madrid doesn't win the league they may look elsewhere. If Madrid does win La Liga, how can they not renew del Bosque's contract?

 

Del Bosque ha sido duramente criticado, por el hecho de ser Tecnico de un equipo como el Madrid y tener este sus bajas, pero muchos lo han defendido, pues el mérito de Del Bosque es precisamente el de saber dirigir a un equipo lleno de estrellas.
Si el equipo recobra la gloria de su nivel galáctico, yo creo que no molestarán más a Del Bosque, o tal vez de verdad el Madrid sea mejor en otras manos.

Valdano Denies Real Have Approached Eriksson


Real Madrid's sporting director has denied reports that the Spanish giants had approached England coach Sven Goran Eriksson.

The Swede had been linked with following England captain David Beckham to the Santiago Bernabeu, but Valdano insists contract talks with Vicente Del Bosque are still ongoing.

Del Bosque's contract is due to expire this summer, but the club are set to meet him after Sunday's final match of the season. A victory at home to Atletic Bilbao will secure Real's 29th title.

Valdano said: "We have not considered other alternatives. We have not spoken to anyone. I don't why Eriksson's name has been linked with Madrid."

He continued: "If there is a solution with Del Bosque, it will be announced on Monday, and if not, we will continue to negotiate."

 

Many coaches would kill to be in Madrid's bench.
And it seems that Florentino doesn't like that his "Zidanes y Pavones" policy has more likely been "Zidanes y Hierros" or "Zidanes y Morientes".
Just a thought.

 

Del Bosque's future

Well i just happened to read that a 1 year extension has beeen throw on the table for del bosque. I know Real didn't win the CL this year, and the last game against juventus could have had a different outcome. Yet, does this warrant getting rid of him? He's had a great ride as coach and no one else in Europe has a record as he does. Anyway, one final question for all of you out there, where can i go to receive the real madrid shield/avatar so i can place under my user name? Thanks for the help. HALA MADRID!

I've heard rumors of joaquin going to real madrid if Figo goes away. But i want to know if Barca has shown interest in him and if he would do well there? Que piensas de eso?

All have turned down the job.

Florentino Perez says he wants a diplomatic coach who has an impressive CV.

Does Bruce Arena have any chance?

I can't see Bruce Arena leaving the US Nats. I also can't see Real Madrid offering him their coaching position.

What a horrible move by RM but I really don't know the behind the scenes goings on with VDB and the Board. I disagree with them cutting Hierro outright. I think he could have been useful coming off the bench but perhaps Hierro wanted no part of that. I haven't read all the clippings yet, but I'm stunned by these moves.

 

Queiroz is the most likely candidate at this point.

Arsene Wenger insists he will be in charge at Highbury next season, despite being favourite to replace Vicente Del Bosque at Real Madrid.
Del Bosque steered Real to the Primera Liga title this season, but the Spanish giants have decided not to renew his contract and are now looking for a new coach.

But Wenger insists he is not taking over the reins at the Bernabeu and said: "I can say 100% that I will be at Arsenal next season.

"I will not be leaving Highbury to go to Madrid. I have never broken a contract in my career and I have no intention of breaking the one I have with Arsenal, where I have two years left on my contract."
