The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has met with Pep Guardiola to convince him to take over as national team head coach, according to Sky in Italy. Paolo Maldini, the new technical director of the FIGC, and Leonardo, his advisor, travelled to Barcelona to speak with the former Man City boss. It remains to be seen if Guardiola wants the job, but the FIGC is making concrete attempts to bring him in as the national boss. Other candidates for the role are Roberto Mancini and Andrea Pirlo. Maldini and Leonardo spoke with Guardiola over three days, explaining their project for the Italian national team. https://www.skysports.com/football/...about-replacing-gennaro-gattuso-as-head-coach
Would LOVE to see this. Would love to see a resurgent Italian NT team. World football is better because of it. I doubt Pep would take the job though. Maldini is heading the rebuild. I wish him luck. Italain NT has always been my second team.
Bild Zeitung with the mother of all character assassination hit jobs on Olise. Yikes. Allegedly hiding a child and being an absent father.
Not dismissing the story, but the timing is very interesting. Is this one of those tricks that Bayern is known for?

I don't know about Germany but in the US if you don't pay child support you are in legal jeopardy and it is certainly the employers business since the government requires the emplyers to deduct the amount from the paycheck and send it to the state. Maybe this is their way of telling him we can keep a secret and you can keep that 25% of your paycheck, which is the difference in the amount of money you won't be making if you leave.
Zidane already doing a whatever job, didn't that happen to him in Madrid where he was assistant coach and then moved to castilla but technically he had some other title because he wasn't licensed.
What 🚨💣 BREAKING: DONALD TRUMP WANTS TO NOMINATE GIANNI INFANTINO TO BE THE NEW SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS! @nypost pic.twitter.com/iKTjwby98B— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) July 21, 2026
That has been Gianni's ultimate goal from what I heard. His whole personal communication is to vehiculate that he is a peace maker.
Trump created his own UN, called the board of peace. Infantino would fit in well there, as he’s well versed in corruption and grift.
He created tthat board of peace so well, that's literaly they did nothing since then.. not even meeting probably.
