Barca is too big to fail. La Liga can’t really punish them as they need a Barca that’s still competitive and getting attention.

La Liga is pretty much irrelevant and going the way of Serie A, excluding the big two which prop up the league.

 

That already happened from 2004-12 when Valencia and Depor declined rapidly. Atleti's resurgence under Simeone kept it 2.5 teams league.

Even when Madrid wins, I can't help but to feel we are witnessing the decline of the league right in front of our eyes. Empty and old stadiums, all players with some potential quickly being sold to the PL, corruption (sorry), and worst of all, not a single chance a team being able to defy Madrid and Barça in the next ten years (including Atletico).

Sevilla and Valencia can't even get relevant sponsors anymore. Even their kits are template kits we all can get and personalize for our dad leagues, I believe.

Having said that, it's cool to see Depor, Racing and Málaga back.

Which one isn't? In the great EPL, City are making the rules as they go. Same for CL with the oil clubs, etc.

It is what it is. Atleti has around 450 ME budget and has to compete for a title with RM and Barca that has well over a billion in budget. For Villarreal, difference becomes 200 ME vs 1200 ME.
