No matter what a person running a club thinks, these players are legends for the club's history not a president. A personal agenda shouldn't exclude these players from these things. I really hope we don't do this.

I hope Arbeloa comes back to Madrid with more experience for a second stint at some point. Hes a talented guy and we did him dirty like we did Xabi.

He can experience it from the same seat the people sat that he said were at fault for the team's bad performances.

This is a stupid move and to avoid corruption they need to get rid of transfer fees.

The clubs with negotiating power will simply force the player to give up their 5% as a condition of allowing the sale.

Crystal Palace did this to Ian Wright when he wanted a move to Arsenal, and they demanded it at the 11th hour (about twenty minutes before transfer deadline) to ensure they got their money or prevented the move. Wright was still disappointed with their behaviour when he spoke about it decades later.

Eichhorn was the talk of town in Germany with people claiming he wanted millions as a signing fee to sign for any team interested. He's considered incredibly talented, Bayern, Dortmund, Liverpool all had a deal for him to his terms but the stumbling point was the signing bonus, which was apparently "up to 10 mil.", depending on who you ask.

He was announced as a new Leverkusen player yesterday. He's 16 years old.

I applaud players that use the system to their leverage. Just like i applaud the clubs when they do it. It's a negotiation and the players don't want to fully unionize, so hey.

I would get rid of transfer fees, clubs paying signing fees, clubs playing player’s agents fees etc. It’s all very shady.

The player is an employee and should be paid salary, like every other worker. If you want to lump in a “signing fee” or a bonus or as part of the salary structure, fine, but there is no reason a club should be paid a transfer fee, and there is especially no reason that the player or its agent should be paid part of that transfer fee.

    It’s asking for exploitation.

The transfer fee is compensation to release a player from his contract so as to not every player just doesn't say mid season you know what, i'm going to go to work for Chelsea now and begin my employment with the CL semi final (as an example).

You need some sort of system to not have completely unprotected movement. You'll also see crazy wages as players go to the club and just say "pay me more or i'm leaving".

It’s not linked to the contract in any way though. If it was a fair assessment of the damages for the player breaching their contract, fine. Thats what happens in other employment situations.

But you have players with release clauses of a billion when their contract is nowhere near a billion in value. It’s ridiculous.

As is with diving, watch the ref turn a blind eye 95% of the time.

The current evaluation system works by the idea that the club defines what the player's value is to them, and the players ask for compensation based on what they think their labor is worth.

To be fair it's a soft call to begin with. Who's to say who's setting a screen and who's actually standing waiting for a second chance opportunity? It gets very wishy wash which is why i always say that more upper body contact needs to be allowed.

Just shove the player out of the way.

I think they should call that how basketball calls illegal picks. (Not NBA)

    Lol, "not nba"

    Still going with that huh?

How much Euroleague basketball did you watch this season?

I find the rule just stupid. In football players move across each other, if you feel like your lane is being obstructed defend your position.

They're encouraging everybody to just flop as soon as somebody stands in front of them "that was a screen ref", sorry such garbage.

Just call moving screens as illegal. That includes unnatural body part positioning and grabbing. It isn't complicated.

If we follow the NBA style officiating on screens, then it would be very lax and inconsistent.

[Machoman Randy Savage]OH YEAH!!! INTERNET HARD MAN MODE, ACTIVATE!! [/Machoman Randy Savage]

But seriously, you're that hooked on a dopamine rush that you've got to go to ground over this?

Oh, I see. You're so addicted to the (snicker) GLORY of winning an internet argument, that you've moved the goalposts. Let's check the replay of your previous posts, if you actually made mention of anything OUTSIDE the Camp Nou:

Yup, not seeing any mention of the rest of the Espai Barça in your previous post, so clearly it's a sweet goalposts move to get your dopamine rush.

You're not interested in an intellectually honest conversation, so I'm done with you, sweetie.

The only thing european coaches have discussed this season has been the whistles. That's why i asked. We've had games interrupted as teams threatened to walk out.

Let's just not go to another sport, ok?

I just feel like the federations are always waving the banhammer because referees are incapable of following the game nowadays. You're not allowed to do this, this this this.

I think most referees lack putting situations in the correct context.

The issue is with players putting bodies around the keeper to simply block his movements. I am ok with banning it in principle, just don't know how they will implement it. I think a better rule is to not allow players in the small goal kick area suring corners, before the ball is kicked.

I just clarified your qeuery. You know I also would like to ban any sort of shirt pulling and body part grabbing in the box during set pieces. :p

Have you noticed the football fans are the only sports fans that want every other sport to be tougher than it is, but their own sport has to have less contact than a victoria's secret showcase?
