When Mourinho last coached Madrid he was a star, now he is receiving a once in a lifetime opportunity based on his relationship with somebody. At the end of the day though, it's the results that matter.

You could arguably call him the next step of the evolution of that prototype of coach that Mourinho was. But whenever he's mentioned, people say he'll fight with the players and cause chaos, then in the same breath say Mourinho will run a tight program and instill discipline, but how is that possible if you don't impose yourself on the players.

The old "trust me pal, I know how to win" trick doesn't work any more.

Conte often clashed with club management rather than players and that's how he ended up leaving Juve, Chelsea, Spurs and Inter. Read that's the reason why Conte option never appealed to Perez over the years.

They kept the coach that got was the seat for a title winning season before the squad was practically loaded with players on huge transfers that didn't really have an impact.

On the other hand the player they were doing back flips to get rid of played a top season in Munich.

For what it's worth Xabi is a coach that is on a two year negative streak. He's got to deliver something.
