I’ve had the impression that they’ve been running mostly on inertia this year. Inter is my favorite team in Italy, but I only get to watch two or three of their games per season. Still, I follow their results closely, and to me it feels like they overachieved considering their performances against their main rivals. They lost twice to Milan, had a loss and a draw against Napoli, and lost to Juventus before barely beating them when Juve were down to 10 men. They reached the Champions League final last year, but this season they were knocked out by Bodo/Glimt and lost all of their matches against stronger opponents like Atletico, Arsenal, and Liverpool. So, we’ll see what happens next year, but based on the results so far, I’m not very confident in Chivu.
I think they managed to hit a certain standard, I believe that's the toughest thing to do in sport. Avoid the elevator ride.
Hope that you are right. They are definitely the best managed team in Italy but let's see what happens next year. I think that they are ready to be overtaken.
Now that Betis qualified for the UCL, they have more money to spend, so they can buy Ceballos from us. It’s a win-win-win situation for everyone involved.
Barca had the opportunity to secure 100 points in La Liga had they won all three dead rubber games post winning the title. Last season they only had 88 points so they are much better this season in racking up points.
Girona 1-1 Real Sociedad Levante, Mallorca, Elche - 39 points. Girona, Alaves - 40 points. Osasuna, Espanyol - 42 points. Two relegation spots to be decided.

@Hendrix22 beat his chest hard for Theo Hernandez but now we all see why clubs didn't sign him even though Milan were willing to give clubs a major discount. With all the trouble the club has, imagine if they would've added drug abuse to the list. Although i'm fairly sure that this might have been kind of an "open secret" given how there was no interest for the player despite every effort to let him go.
I wouldn't exactly call funny gas drug abuse, the problem was more the parties and call girls. But when a player is that good, you tend to forgive him, like in the case of Tonali. Theo is still a cornerstone of how one of the strongest NTs in history play. If our strategy was to maximize player talent and truly overload that left side, it would have still made sense to get him especially given how cheap he was. Carreras made more sense if there was a project and a system that was supposed to be established. But that also went down the toilet when Xabi got the boot. So in the end if youre going to treat managers as expendable, just buy the best talent available and think more of money in the context rather than off field shaenanigans.
It's a party drug that can cause health damage just like any other drug that isn't designed for recreational use. Considering how much people in the sport talk about that stuff behind closed doors, you have to assume that's why the player didn't gain any traction despite being offered at a bargain. I know you'll die for your guys but this is a no brainer pass for me.
Levante secured their youth team goalkeeper Ihor Galdin with a long term deal after Real Madrid made an offer, the club used the same pathway they used to get Chema Andres among others in the past few years.
Liverpool loosing to villa- if everything works out perfectly they could still miss CL next season edit: tied game
Villa also play City in their final league game. Bournemouth who are involved in CL spot race play City next.
Shockingly bad defense from Liverpool. They're even worse than us. Haven't really watched them this season. We lost to that horrible team with Xabi on the bench btw and didn't produce anything on that game.
Club should have backed the coach after manchild's tantrum. Hiring the 3rd division coach as replacement was even worse. Pool have had an average season by the standards they set last season. RM hardly had a better season considering the embarassment of losing to semi-pros etc. Also bottled Top 8 at Benfica while horrible defense Pool qualified. We have a shitty defensive record as well.
Villa need a draw vs City to ensure Top 4 as Pool has better GD. If Villa finish 4th, no 6th CL spot for PL even if Villa wins EL.
Villa will field a B team for that final game as it means nothing to them. Liverpool OTOH may be sweating it out until the final whistle of the final day.
Yea. Palace will likely play B team against Arsenal too as they have to play Conference League final few days later.
True, the EL is before the City match. That makes it a bit more likely that some first choice starters will play for Villa, but surely not a full A team either.
I expect Villa to play main team vs City then. 4th position gives better money from PL and finishing ahead of Liverpool is prestigious too. No reason to rest starters for final game of the season.
