Poor Arsenal are 8 points ahead in the league, 3 if Manchester City win their games in hand, and will like go through to the semi finals of the Champions League. People like to dump on Arsenal and make out a shit storm. I would find it pathetic and somewhat hilarious if they don't win anything this season. But with that said, let's wait until they've actually thrown it away before basically celebrating a defeat that hasn't even happened.
Something really bad is happening to our club since last season: 1)Poor football based only on individual performances 2)Lack of scoring goals 3)A lot of injuries 4)Dropping points too easily 5)Unmotivated - play like they already won or simply don’t care 6)Always run less k.m. In comparison to the opponents - this is unacceptable and issue I can’t understand And more…
Entitled plastic fans who demand 5:0 victories in each games is the worst thing that is happening to Real Madrid
I can only speak for myself. Since Mikel Arteta was appointed as Arsenal manager, he has spent around €1.09 billion (December 2019 - August 2025). In that time, he has won only one major trophy the FA Cup in the 2019/20 season, along with two Community Shields, across nearly seven and a half years in charge. He has finished second in the league three times in a row, with two of those seasons ending in late collapses during the final phase of the campaign. In Europe, his record includes some embarrassing exits: in 2019/20, Arsenal were eliminated in the Round of 32 by Olympiacos, and in 2022/23, they were knocked out by Sporting CP in the semi-finals. On top of all that, despite the huge spending, the team plays very unattractive and boring football. You can clearly see it in the way they score goals, out of their 62 goals, 23 (37%) came from set pieces. That’s a record for a team competing for the title (the previous record was held by Manchester United in 2007/08, with 27.5% of their goals coming from set pieces). Also, I see Mikel Arteta as a coach who is basically a mix of Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola but without the good parts. He spends huge amounts of money only to play very defensive football, combined with excessive possession that ultimately leads to nothing. No manager of a big club would normally survive such a poor record after spending so much money and achieving so little(basically nothing).
Not really celebrating, just talking shit/having fun. Personally, I'd love for them to win the league over City. This year I even went from "they'll surely bottle it again" to "damn, it looks like maybe they won't actually bottle it this time". But after seeing them being dumped by Southampton in the FA cup, to losing the EFL cup final to City, and now losing to Bournemouth - it looks like your typical Arsenal breakdown. They may still get over the line in the league, but the gap with City is potentially much closer now. Yes, it depends on City's next two games - one of which is Arsenal.
3 point difference with a game in hand. So, a virtual tie if City won their next 2. But City aren't exactly on fire of late either, and that's what could end up saving Arteta and Co.
I personally dont understand stats like this? I mean a team could have players who dribble alot so naturally draw more fouls. X team having more red card compared to Y team makes ZERO SENSE. What we need to compare is, how many were VALID Red cards!
Dude, the sample size is over 25 years. Madrid also closer to other Liga teams. It is literally a statistical irregularity. The huge discrepancy doesn't exist in UCL games, only in LaLiga and it also started when the alleged Negreira payments started. People can use deductive reasoning.
Next 2 games are against Chelsea and Arsenal. They'll be 3 points behind with game in hand if they win those. Goal difference will also be about the same.
Spurs with another loss. This club is allergic to winning. Between firing Ange Postecoglou after winning their first trophy in ages and firing Mourinho before a final just to deny him winning it - you could tell they had little to no chance of staying up. Wonder how long it will take them to bounce back up with that mentality.
Spurs firmly in the relegation zone and 3 points from safety. They have 1 point from 24 available. Brighton H Wolves A Villa A Leeds H Chelsea A Everton H Looking at their schedule, I don’t see they’ll amass enough wins / points needed to escape. I believe they’re down.
That schedule looks pretty light to me. Since they're by far the worst team in the league since New Year's nothing is easy, but they have a chance with that schedule.
There goes Arsenal's better goal difference too. Just 1-goal wins by City over Arsenal and Palace will put them in first.
If City beat Arsenal next week, and win their game in hand... we are all tied up. And then it comes down to goal difference. Arsenal may implode soon after. Assuming Arsenal get past Sporting, they will then have the CL Semis to worry about. While City just has to worry about their EPL games. This would City in the driver seat and we all know how Arsenal does under pressure.
Arteta will put brick wall next weekend.. if the loose vs City IMO Pep's team will be champions. They can win all remaining games.
I have ignored all the 'bottle' talk for weeks assuming its people wanting to have a dig and sensing some fun etc, but this weekend is the first time i have believed its true. I think Man City will be champions.
Paz scored one and his rebound was put in for another against Inter. But Inter get one back before the half. Fun match.
I had a conversation with a die hard Arsenal fan about 2 months ago and they were making arrangements to head to London for the celebrations. I told him that I wouldn’t plan on it quite yet and he was adamant this time was different…..
Issue is he is really another AM. If we play him as a CM he’ll need defensive help. But his strongest attribute is his directness and willingness to make decisions and take chances. Guy loves to shoot and today hit a FK that was a damn missile that Inter’s keeper barely figured out in time. Coni’s defense gave this one away though, they couldn’t handle Thurman and Dumfries at all. And he earns a PK just now getting hit on a follow though.
Paz puts in a perfect cross for Moreno who misses. Then Ramon almost gets one. Ramon has actually been more impressive gping forward for me this season, he always find his away into the box and regularly causes danger from rebounds.
Problem with Paz, or this club to be more accurate, is that there is a good chance he'll get dragged down by whatever is wrong behind the scenes at this club. We obviously have the players to be the best team in Europe. We won the Champions League with near enough the same squad, just with Mbappé instead of Rodrygo being the main difference. If anything that should be a huge upgrade but what have we seen? Vinicius underperforming Bellingham being a headless chicken at times Valverde being off form Camavinga not being great And that's just to name a few, and they are all young players. Something is seriously wrong and different in our changing room compared to a couple years ago. If I had to guess it would be the likes of Vini becoming more prominent and Perez going more senile; going to war with referees, La Liga, UEFA and FIFA. Until these issues are either fixed or eliminated from our club, doesn't make a damn difference who you bring in as our core issue is not the quality of our players. Essentially in a similar position to Manchester United at the moment.
