Henry: No, no, no... for me, that's not a red card. I'm sorry. I understand the rule. Last man, denying a goal chance, but you have to look at the situation. The ball is not completely under control, the angle is not perfect and there is still distance to the goal. Are we sure he's going to score? I'm not convinced. For me, it's yellow card, not red. Because as soon as you drive it out, you change the whole game. And in the Champions League, you have to be 100% sure. I think the referee was too fast at that." So ref has to make a prediction whether the player would have scored or not? Last man foul is red a card. Period. Defenders are allowed to get away with tactical fouls for a yellow card so stop exploiting it further by blatant fouling when you are the last man.
Atletico nearly fumbled a 4-0 first leg win against Barcelona in the Copa recently, so I’m not holding my breath. Hopefully they see it through.
Yea. They gotta play with the usual intensity they have at home. If they try to park the bus in a home game, they are inviting Barca back into this tie from the start.
Dovbyk rejecting Atletico for Roma and them signing Sorloth instead has worked out really well for Atleti.
Of Atlético go through they will face Arsenal right? Assuming Arsenal go through of course. This is the issue. Atlético can best Barcelona on occasions, batter than in the Copa del Rey but i know for a fact they will absolutely bottle it against Arsenal.
Don't care honestly. Atletico would have done their job if they have knocked out Barca. Don't want Barca winning 6th CL. Arsenal will need incredible luck to beat Bayern/PSG in the final. I hope we get to the final, but if we don't, probably will want Bayern/PSG to choke in the final if it's Atleti or Arsenal on the other side.

How about taking the losss and move on . pic.twitter.com/qYKPf7jlBI— AGABI (@SOCIETALMADNS) April 9, 2026
Peter Schmeichel just said…“Liverpool were so compact at the back that it stopped PSG from scoring more than two goals”Carragher and Thierry lost it. Thierry even hid behind the screen. pic.twitter.com/tiUsYXYarb— George Chomakov (@chomakovg) April 8, 2026
Being given e penalty for a player touching the ball to take a goal kick would be ridiculous. I remember Ramos doing something similar in an El Classico where he thought the ball had gone out of play for a goal kick, it would feel like robbery to concede a penalty for that. There’s absolutely no advantage or disadvantage for either side from a play like that. The ref yesterday is the best in Europe imo so no surprise he made that decision. If Atleti can hold on in the second leg, I’d put my money on them reaching the final.
So Henry quote was apparently fabricated by a big Barca page and other accounts ran with it. Henry in fact said it's a deserved red. Lier. When did he say it? Point the minutes in the transmission when he said this? you can't, because he never said it. pic.twitter.com/3ZOJbH1uES— Miguel Carpio Arias (@mcarpioarias) April 8, 2026
Loves it when it goes his way and "we have to respect the referees" to completely going on a rampage when they lose
Barcelona filing a complaint to UEFA because it didn’t go their way Then have the nerve to tell other clubs how to act in defeat
Good result for Rayo, winning first leg of their Conference league quarterfinal 3-0 at home against AEK Athens - the best team in Greece this season. It increases Spain's lead over Germany in the UEFA coefficient table to more than a full point, with Portugal slightly further back (no other country with a real shot at winning that extra CL spot). If Spain get a 5th CL spot, it actually creates a race in La Liga, since the top 4 is nailed-on certain at this stage.
It's honestly understandable.. Things go their way so much in La Liga that whenever they experience something not heavily slanted in their favor they are in uproar. Their expectation is normally calls should be missed or made which slant for them.
Most people at the top levels of football are terrible losers. Arsenal Wenger is a scholar and a gentleman but he was terrible after losing another game to a few long ball goals at Huddersfield or Doncaster or wherever. Klopp seems to be a great guy when he’s not losing games. Guardiola similar. Mourinho similar. The only one I can think of at the very top level who maintains control and a high level of class when he loses is Ancelotti.
