Better late than never....top of the table Also I really really hope not, he is well past his sell by date,
I always say.... the real season starts in February when the contenders are peaking at the right time. We are getting better. Let's see if Barcelona's form is dropping.
Because the team despite all the drama was always within striking distance of Barca. We've seen in the past where Barca has a two or three game win advantage by winter. Thta was too much. It's usually down to two things, either Barca are ain't all that either and/or Madrid aren't that bad.
Pedri returning before next La Liga match apparently. He gives control to Barca midfield which helps in shielding the high line defense better as well.
Flick in rumors of getting fired/quitting at the end of the season today. Shares the same agent as Lewandowski, who is also set to leave the club this summer.
Sacked? That’d be extremely harsh. He looks tired, I assume he walks considering he doesn’t spend that long at clubs anyway.
Well, let's hope they rush him back then. I'm perfectly fine with them losing points due to missing an important player. God knows we've missed several key players this and the last few seasons, making us lose titles not only points. Rush him back!
"players upset at Flicks decisions" Please fire him during the season so we can live a year where both Madrid and Barca fire the coach mid-season.
They are suffering from the same thing we suffered under Carlo last season and Xabi this season. They are not pressing as a team which means thet are being cut open more easily
Would increase our league chances imo like when Bartu sacked Valverde for Setien. But Laporta has never sacked a league winning coach during the season. Riijkaard was allowed to finish miserable 2007-08 season where they finished miles behind RM and 3rd after Villarreal.
It's just some players are more liked than others. Rightfully or not when Vini has a bad game the whole world dislikes him and will make it even bigger than it is.
🚨 Joan Laporta: "They want to dominate Barcelona from Madrid. They've run an institutional campaign against us.""There are some referees who generally always harm Barcelona, historically this has always been the case." pic.twitter.com/Qi88hF95uc— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) February 17, 2026 This guy is so tone deaf
🚨 Victor Font (Barcelona presidential candidate): "After winning the elections, we will report RMTV for adulterating the competition." pic.twitter.com/CZ7RTeP3TJ— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) February 17, 2026 Barca mad RMTV expose the truth and want to censor it
This is also why it frustrates me so much about Perez's relationship with Barcelona, like if the shoes were on the opposite feet these guys would take zero hesitation to inflict maximum pain on us. Not that I would blame them either. I only wish we were the same way. Re: Flick - I'm f*cking begging Barcelona to sack him. Please! This guy has done nothing but have immense success since the moment he arrived. We remember the last season under Xavi, right? That would be doing us a massive favor.
The team is just exhausted, over the past few weeks the club has approached Flick with the idea of introducing a more "off the gas" tactic in order to preserve legs and players, but he's not willing to negotiate on that apparently. I remember Nagelsmann talking about how much NFL coaching and the approach inspires him, but something that football coaches don't consider is that the tackle football squads are huge and have ridiculous amount of churn, along with the practice squad depth, people placed on IR etc. In football you only have a handful of guys and once you ran them ragged you're on your own. Football has to either get back to a less track and field approach to the game, or really replenish the squad every single season with stacks of cheap short contract players that most likely simply aren't available.
It's going to be Guardiola vs Mourinho 2.0 all over again - Guardiola will leave City and return to Barcelona after Flick - Mourinho will join us after Arbeloa. As the kids say... "it's going to be lit"
