What Senegal did today is the biggest digrace I have ever seen on a football pitch. They disqualified African football, the African people and the continent as a whole. I hope they enjoy this cup, but they need to face severe, football related consequences. FIFA has to act, and their WC spot should be in the discussion as one of the sanctions.
I agree. Terrible image. Mane is classy. They should've been disqualified. That penalty though. I still cant believe it. When has the guy ever shot a penalty? That one was all about himself. He wanted all the glory given he'd scored so much in the tournament. Hakimi should really have taken it. Oh well, that's on the coach too for not making clear that the hierarchy should be respected
Mane probably saves them from any severe punishment by staying on the field and bringing everyone back out.
Yes, that penalty will haunt him for the rest of his career. I was shocked when Hakimi didn't take it.
2-1 Real Sociedad I told ya, if you attack this Barca side and be aggressive you can easily score goals. They are so bad defensively. This is why we criticised Xabi and his tactics against them. He was a pussy and a pathetic meek man. It was the last straw.
They left the field after Morocco got awarded a penalty in protest. They came back after 10 to 15 min. Cry babies.
He is gone. Just the way i wanted us to move past spinning back to Carlo when Xabi joined, that's part of why i feel anything going forward should be in it's own context. Plus we both know what Xabi was throwing on the field was strictly job preservation.
I strongly disagree, mate. It’s not Xabi’s fault. You have to take all factors into account. Real Sociedad had 8 chances, while Barça had 25. Barça completely dominated the game. Sociedad were simply very efficient with their chances. On top of that, Raphinha didn’t play, even though he played a key role against us. Meanwhile, in the first Clásico we dominated completely. That game could easily have ended 5-1. In the Supercopa, Militão and Mbappé didn’t play. We lost 3-2 and still had clear chances, especially towards the end. There’s no need to downplay Xabi’s performance just for the sake of it.
Would it though? Been reading lately that winning titles reinforces bad habits or some other moronic thing.
Commentators said they don’t know how Barca didn’t win by at least 3 goals tonight. When it’s not your day, it’s not your day. We’ll see if morale drops a little bit here on but our next game is not the easiest away to Villarreal so it might be back to 4 points next weekend. We’ll see.
Even in Flick's big season they often hit those bumps and we were often wondering if the high defensive line miracle is falling apart. They play a high risk high reward game.
