If Vini doesn’t renew during this season, by the summer time he’s got one year left on his deal. Anything can happen from that point. I can’t remember us ever being in that situation with a star player in their prime years.
And you talk like football is a powerpoint presentation, not a sport played by humans. Let’s keep pretending that’s not how football works while the guy you’re slating keeps being the one opponents plan their whole week around.
Not really, it's just that I demand a normal amount of accountability for the guy that has his toes planted throat deep into your mouth. Pathetic behavior of treating adults like babies.
You sound like a guy who mistakes holding grudges for having standards. Nobody is out there treating him like a baby. Im just not pretending the team’s spine should bend every time he scowls. Accountability is absolutely fine, but you’re foaming at the mouth over attitude while ignoring output. Let’s not pretend he isn’t one of the best wingers in Europe this season yet again.
You can arguably be a great leader and still be a war criminal. Being an all time great fullback didn't save Dani Alves from being Dani Alves. For me 9/10 players I only support for as long as they play for us anyway, so of course I'm happy when our players play well, but once the whistle blows it doesn't mean I have to tolerate shit behavior.
Nobody is asking you to tolerate shit behavior. The difference is knowing what deserves outrage and what’s just noise. Vini losing his cool in a match isn’t remotely comparable to real scandals or criminal acts. The guy’s still showing up, still producing n still taking hits because the system funnels everything through him. That kind of responsibility wears on anyone.
I never said he's garbage or that the player is bad, there's arguably levels below what he's delivering, but the attitude is third division even if the performances are CL level. That's why he's being treated the way he is by the sport and the fraternity around it. There isn't too much credit given to somebody that packs his bags, travels around the continent and calls people shit players.
The point is proportionality. Vini’s behavior partly comes from being kicked, baited and racially abused while still being expected to decide games. That doesn’t excuse him, but it puts his reactions in a human context. Accountability makes sense, moral outrage doesn’t.
Barça treated Yamal’s groin issue without informing Spain’s medical staff. The Spanish doctors only found out about his treatment through the media, not directly from Barcelona, which led the federation to remove him from the national squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Lol they strategically did a procedure that requires 7-10 days of rest the night before an international break. I get why Barca did it but Spain look like suckers if they just accept this lying down.
Spain gave him painkiller shots to have him playing for them, zero empathy for them, the way players are being treated in Spain is pretty crazy anyway. Remember Guardiola telling Müller Wohlfahrt that in Spain they have players he has out for 3 weeks back on the field after 3 days. That should tell you everything.
Game against Raya was painful to watch. Xabi looked toothless. Changing to 442 with Cama on the wing was a strange decision to say the least. I can't be optimistic going into the season watching us play like this. Mbappe was the one that saved Xabi from being exposed. Once he dips in form or gets injured, we are in for a trouble. Every big match except el clasico was a disaster. CWC, matches against Atletico and Liverpool were diabolical. Tbh I can easily see another trophyless season incoming. Barcelona will get only better as the season continues with Raphinha and Pedri coming back from the injuries. Their tactics and the quality of their squad are just better suited for La Liga in general imo. They will easily overcome this 3 point deficit if we continue playing like this. Same goes to Atletico who seem to rise in form in recent matches. They are 6 points behind and I woldn't write them off at the moment.
Mourinho was right all along. - 1,024 players suspended (27 from top division). -Eren Elmali(Gala player) out of World Cup qualifiers. - 3rd & 4th tiers shutting down for 2 weeks - Turkish FA asks FIFA for urgent 15-day transfer window "in order for clubs to complete their squad deficiencies"
This could be happening in lower leagues of Spain, Italy, France and Germany too given how much players could make from betting compared to semi-pro pay.
Of course, besides betting, there might also be cases of match-fixing in the lower leagues. The main issue here is that players from the top division were betting on matches, and this comes on top of the referees who were also involved in betting.
I have a feeling that Ronaldo will continue after World Cup 2026 if he does not score his 1000th goal. He simply retires internationally. He has 46 or 47 goals to go.
If it happened with NBA and MLB players loaded with hundreds of dollars, I am absolutely certain it's commonplace everywhere. I was wondering when we'll see a similar case get brought up in Spain, but the last time I checked, the sport books reported an entire slate of games to the UEFA (Europa League, etc.) that UEFA found "zero issues" with. Funny enough some people feel like prop betting made "match fixing" less of an occurance, simply because people gamble on insignificant things like a yellow card, a substitution, or the over/under in minutes played which is much much easier to control than the outcome of an entire game.
The fan base worldwide has gone down the hole.... I've never seen souch crap being spewed. It's so much worse than 2 years ago.... It's killing my passion for the game
He allready said he is only playing club football to stay strong for international matches. I don't actually believe him and I think his final game as a pro footballer will be in the euros 2028.
He might want to play with his son who is now 15 years. CR Junior can make his debut in the Saudi League by 2028 as an 18 year (just to honor his dad). It is possible since his son supposes to be the best player with Al Nassar academy, and CR7 should still be able to maintain some of his forms by 2028. However, I think he should move his son to a better academy than Al Nassar. So, I don't know where he will be or if CR will be playing in the same club. A few years ago, his son was considered one of the top prospects in the Juventus academy, but in hindsight, it seems he was overhyped. I now believe that he is not a generational talent, but he can probably become a professional footballer for a few seasons. But can Al Nassar help him to become a European pro??
First, I feel that international football is becoming increasingly meaningless. The era of truly great national teams seems to be over. If you were to place France, Spain, England, or Brazil into the Champions League, they’d probably finish no higher than sixth. The expanded World Cup Finals have only made things worse. Personally, I don’t mind that club football is overtaking international football — that part I’m okay with. But the new Champions League format is just ridiculous. I stayed up to watch Liverpool vs. Real Madrid, only to realize the match was essentially meaningless. Both teams will qualify for the next round, and the group standings barely mattered. When it comes to fixed games, it's not just soccer. MLB (which I’m not even a fan of), the NBA, and maybe even the NFL are all heading in a similar direction. In a way, it all just cancels each other out.
