I hope it ends and changes I miss the old football and I’m not the sentimental nostalgic type it was just better to watch
It's about effectiveness.... The more effective way of playing will always be the trend. If suddenly the world sees a generation of super talented players we might get back to that but it's unlikely when even at lower ranks and youth football what's being prioritize is physical ability and speed.

Nowadays everybody can play. I think that's being lost a bit. Watch games from the 90s and see how many of the mid table teams play horrendous kickboxing football. Sevilla used to be pure violence. Javi Navarro, the Rambo. Then you have people claiming VAR is bad. Comical.
Silence over Sudan: why do Manchester City’s owners get away with so much? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/nov/08/silence-over-sudan-manchester-city-owners-football
Why does Barca? Because football is KING in a lot of countries and the countries number 1 pastime gets a lot of political and economical flexibility. If you operate a regular day to day business like most football clubs do, you're not making it past a full year.
300 million for Sevilla The sale of Sevilla is heating up and is expected to accelerate at the end of this year to be finalized at the beginning of 2026. According to sources close to the Nervión club, there are already offers exceeding 3,000 euros per share, which would value the club at more than 300 million euros. Several foreign investment funds have recently expressed interest in acquiring the club, which has been experiencing an intense power struggle among its major shareholders for years. For the sale to take place before 2027, all the main shareholders would need to reach an agreement. And that is getting closer. The future buyer will have to deal with the enormous debt that currently burdens Sevilla, with net figures ranging from less than €100 million, as the club has recently assured, to more than €200 million, taking into account the direct loan from CVC through LaLiga. https://as.com/futbol/primera/la-tercera-via-a-tope-lappi-quiere-comprar-el-sevilla-n/
They were better but did they outplay us? They didn't create a single chance from open play, we got hit numerous times by fumbles and set pieces + corners. Xabi got his plan wrong, we should have sat deep and countered, playing control football against a side that is physically superior to you was idiotic.

Our heatmap against Pool compared to Citys heatmap against Pool I'd dare any winger to do well being left on their own to beat multiple players
Thats because Vinicius plays with the mentality of "I dont need help, I can do it all by myself". You can see how Doku picks his moments so much better than Vinicius and uses his teammates with more purpose. But Vini is 25 year old with a couple of CLs and an almost BDO under his belt, so hes pretty much set in his ways. Doku is very coachable and Pep transformed him in terms of how he approaches the game.
Leao is honestly the fastest player in the open field out of all of them. He basically never stops accelerating and his top pace is out of this world. Doku is all about the short burst, he reaches his top speed quicker than anyone and he makes the difference once he wins some space, because hes got great ball talent, vision and instinct to pass the ball. Leao is a better scorer though imo. The problem is I think Pep molded him into a perfect player for his role in the City system, but that has ironically made him a worse player overall because he is further from a complete player that could be a superstar anywhere else.
Mentality or not we are set up very very poorly. No winger could succeed when we have these tactics. Bradley went from the new Ashley Cole to "pipe down on the hype" and we have Xabi to thank for that
Yes, always believe that English hype especially when the dude is white.. You think any coach would set up Vini to take on 3-4 players alone and not link up with Jude or Mbappe or Carreras? How about lose the ball +21 times? Xabi should have the guts to take him out around the 65th and bring on Gonzalo or Endrick..
