I expected PSG to go all out for someone big such as Kvaratskhelia, Julio Alvarez, Leao, Nico Williams, etc, but they have been quiet. I don't know nothing about Joao Neves, but he went for 50 million. I don't have an opinion about him and PSG, but overall, PSG seems to be slowing down.
Nico, Alvarez snubbed them. Alvarez family wants to live in Spain and Argentine contingent at Atlético also convinced him. Napoli refused to sell Kvara. PSG agreed personal terms with Osimhen but were put off by 130 ME demand by Napoli.
Didn’t Neves for for 60 million Euros plus add-ons? Still think they splash on a player, but Arsenal still looking for a striker as well. Spurs haven done much, Liverpool either.
This one was for you @realmadrid 🫵🤍 pic.twitter.com/U1VGXnsqtM— Luka Jović (@TeamJovic) August 7, 2024
They also backed out of the Yoro deal too (understandably so), and were ultimately out bid by Man Utd. I do see them slowing down vs. how they have operated in previous years.
Thanks for the input. This is the kind of player that you get for free when his contract runs out. He obviously REALLY wanted to play for Barca, why not use that to sign him as a quality squad depth option when his contract runs out... Splashing 60 mil doesn't seem like smart business atm, given Barca's financial situation. All that said, I know of Olmo for quite some time now as he used to play for Dinamo Zagreb, and the dude is a gem of a person and a great addition to any squad. We'll see how that works out for you guys, but yeah you have other unadressed priorities.
60 mil. is hardly "splashing" and he has a contract to 2027. That's three more seasons. I don't think you'll convince him to wait around for three more years, his career might change completely from now to then.
That's fair, I thought he only had a year left for some reason. 60 mil is definitely "splashing" when you need every penny for LW and a CDM. It's not so much the value as much as it is having other priorities and a constrained budget.
I’m lost for words listening to this 🙃Manchester United would have failed PSR for the season just gone if it wasn’t for a £40m COVID allowance given to them by the Premier LeagueEvery other PL club only received up to a £1m allowance. 🤔 pic.twitter.com/x1lX5bNhsY— NUFC HQ (@NUFC_HQ) August 6, 2024 Wtf?!

Barca also feels hungry We will need step it up
Funny to see this guy being salty about the price of 4 players put together when it basically matches the sign on fee for Mbappé. What Atleti are doing is great for the league. Some people are terrified of competition.
The agent shit is out of control. The Julian Alvarez to Atlético deal got delayed because they had to negotiate an extra 3 million for the agent. Again, my question is why? Atlético has lawyers and management. They call city. They ask city if he’d be available and a ballpark price. Assuming the answer is yes, Then they reach out to the agent and ask if his client would be interested in the move (that’s the extent of the agent for the actual transfer). Then they go back and forth and agree on a fee between City and Atlético. Agent should not be paid for this. This is ridiculous. Meanwhile at the same time, Atlético is negotiating with the agent for Alvarez’ wages. They reach an agreement. This the agent should definitely be paid for as he secured the best wages and terms possible for his client. But agents should not be paid on transfers. City owned the rights and have their own lawyers and management. Atlético is buying the rights and have their own lawyers and management. The agent is completely unnecessary for the transfer. Agents getting paid on transfers is unethical, a conflict of interest, bad for the sport, a scam, and just a joke
This is an unethical scam of a sport. There's a reason everything is loose and up to interpretation, for everybody to somehow get in and take his cut.
I always thought Barca post Messi will be 2-4 team… just like Milan … meanwhile 🔵🔴🩺 Dani Olmo has completed his medical tests as new Barcelona player. pic.twitter.com/D9UXbZUezI— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 7, 2024
Not like Barca had 0 La Liga before Messi. Gotta be realistic. Atlético didn't spend much since 2019. A squad revamp was coming. "Where is Atleti getting all this money??"-70m from a capital injection-50m for Club World Cup-60m from UCL -27.5m from sales of Soyuncu, Morata, Lodi (more if Felix goes)-130m from sales in last 2 ssns-40m in saved wages (Soyuncu, Depay, Saul, Morata, Hermoso, Vitolo)… https://t.co/7ZqDPGSpH9— Michael (@LaLigaMichael) August 6, 2024
Kind of DM Barca needed for years. Should have been priority instead of Olmo. Pool haven't really replaced Fabinho either. 🚨🔴 Liverpool are exploring move for Martin Zubimendi as new midfielder, as there’s €60m release clause into his contract.Talks will follow between clubs and on player side. pic.twitter.com/4poac9d5rC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 7, 2024
