Wirtz is not as good as advertised but I am enjoying the struggles mostly because of the runaround he gave bayern.
Still early days though. The price tag was nuts but he’s a super fun player to watch. Perhaps he wasn’t needed at our team since Guler is being moulded into a similar role and is getting better with it, but I really wanted Wirtz this summer.
I just never felt like he'd have it easy away from home. People don't really remember it but German players used to be allergic to leaving the country. Also, at the price point and wages I expect instant performance.
He personifies what went wrong, arguably going for names over what makes them better. Wirtz and Isak together cost the annual budget of a lot of clubs in Europe.

Incessantly moaning about how much another team spent on Player X and Y is laughable.. Arne Slot seems like yet another bald Dutchman that has lost the plot. He went on a shopping spree but can't utilize what he bought, he tops it off with weird game plans and even sillier subs. When the entire team plays like sh!t for several games, it's usually not about one or two players; it's the coach.
It just wasn’t necessary got rid of your only true lw Relying on an aging right winger Bought 2 9s and one AM just seemed like making moves for the sake of making moves
Liverpool got lucky last season, and remember they went out early in the CL. City were a shambles. Arsenal did what they normally do and shit the bed. Chelsea were still growing. They were gifted a PL last year. This year, they are getting found out.
Name a bigger upgrade in footballing history. pic.twitter.com/y96JGZnt4i— Anfield Edition | æ (@AnfieldEdition) September 2, 2025 this hasn’t aged well
Darwin, seriously? Also, wasn't Mbappe pretty dreadful until November/December of last year..the whole "destroyed the chemistry", "destabilized the team" narrative? I'm not comparing either to Mbappe btw.. And it's not like Liverpool's mainstays have been any good: Salah, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Konate. It's still very early in the season..
Yeah I never mentioned Guler. You sure do take the transfers of other teams very personally, "demanding" and "expecting" like you somehow matter.
Yeah, cool. You have former Liverpool CL winner and German international Didi Hamann saying Wirtz can't prove to Liverpool fans that he's worth that kind of money because he simply isn't, but it's some random forum member on the internet that has you upset. Again, i spoke to people that have had personal experiences meeting Wirtz for a series of interviews and i was convinced he'd sign for Bayern, which i eventually still think he will. Some players just aren't built to play in a foreign country.
