I always find this narrative interesting. Does anyone really think they don’t try to win vs them But try their hardest vs us? Maybe their style fits better vs those certain teams than ours. Maybe, and their trophy case shows this, they are better in the league than us just like we are better on CL ties than them. I mean I read Atletico always lays down for them but i remember them beating them just last season, not counting the leagues that Atletico has taken from them
Both of teams totally suck when they visit Barcelona but play above their level when they host them, especially Valencia even though they totally suck.

They conceded 18 goals in their last 3 games against Barca. I think your average Segunda team would do a better job.
They give up quite quickly. It is clear the same feeling of instant defeat doesn't show up when playing against us.
Valencia has a historic grudge with us since we poached Mijatovic in 96/97. They made it impossible for us to get any of their players in subsequent years (Ayala, Villa). RM also obliterated their golden generation in the UCL in 99/2000. So yeah, Valencia will always give their 200% vs RM. Atletico is our city rival so obviously they'd want to beat us more than they would Barcelona.
Of the last 13 visits to Mestalla (since 2015), Barcelona have won 7, drew 5 and lost 1. During the same period, of the 15 times Barcelona have hosted Valencia, they’ve won 11, drew 2 and lost 2. So it’s almost a 50/50 they drop points at Mestalla, which, considering how shit Valencia are, is not a bad average for them. We’re dropping points 3 out of every 5 visits roughly. Real Madrid’s last 12 visits to Mestalla (since 2015), we have won 4, drew 3 and lost 5.
Idc what anyone says it’s so easy to tune in and watch a random Liga game and watch good technical football instead of the headless chicken style of the PL
Jacobo direct red card in 88th minute and Como conceded equalizer during injury time. No fucking way Jacobo Ramon got a red card for this? pic.twitter.com/sHZchr5x4e— 乇Ꮆㄖ (@HandzOfGuti) September 15, 2025
Yea. He had both studs up. It's a red according to the rules. Raising the trailing leg that late gives the impression of dirty play as well.
You might not care what anyone says but I gotta say I disagree completely with this. Might have been true like 6-8 years ago but nowadays even the “weaker” EPL clubs play pretty well with better talent spread out through the league from all over the world. Add better camera angles, commentary and refs and it’s no contest to me. I’d rather watch Bournemouth-Wolves than Girona-Levante every time. La Liga has fallen off and the downturns of clubs like Valencia and Sevilla are part of it plus losing younger talent to England and now the Middle East.
Betting the field against 1 team is pretty easy. I think they are amongst the 10 teams to win it, if not 5.
So many good games, shame we can't watch more than 1. One day UEFA will find out about staggering kick off times and arrive at 2025.
Uniformity is a big part of the TV experience that La Liga still struggles with mostly due to an eternal history of split broadcast rights and lack of a collective broadcast and production deal. Even though the League finally implemented a corporate identity/design, it's still not as polished and is obviously a few years behind.
Hmmm I don’t think so. I’m forced to watch EPL matches since they have some Colombians out there in recent years and technique wise, the games are still dull. A lot of run and press and kick and chase, crosses, and failed dribble attempts. That Liverpool Arsenal games was one of the worst top 2 games you’ll ever see. This past weekend, outside of the Chelsea match, every game seemed like it was 1-0 or 0-0. It looks better so it deceives the eye. The field, the camera quality, the stadium, the marketing. It presents itself way better than La Liga, but once the ball starts rolling, it is still the same old EPL style football I’ll tune in and see a team like Rayo or yesterday’s Mallorca match and watch some pretty football and be surprised as I never heard of any of these dudes. That rarely happens with the PL this is evident even at the NT level. I know that’s a narrow way of looking at it but it is part of the equation, even if a small one. Watch Spain and watch England and tell me which plays more technical and entertaining. I have no reason to be bias. I watch Madrid and I watch Colombians and whatever else is on. I randomly watched the Espayol and the Levantine games the last couple of days and they were better than anything I saw in the big beautiful PL this weekend
