Hated Qatar WC because it split club season into two. Hope top European leagues make sure there won't be a winter CWC in 2029. Give it to Brazil.
With global warming its not gonna matter where its being held anymore, everywhere will be too hot in the summer. Everyone kept complaining about the weather during the CWC in the US, and Europe also had a bad heat wave.
But cooling break was enough to host US CWC and World Cup 2026 in summer. That won't be the case for 2029 CWC if it's held in Qatar. I don't want club season to be split into two. 2034 Saudi World Cup is too far for me to be bothered about it being held during winter.
According to Portuguese newspaper Récord , Chelsea have already accepted Benfica's offer for João Félix. The offer is reportedly 25 million for half of the player's share. The same outlet reports that the deal could be finalized this Friday, and he could play his first match against Mourinho's Fenerbahçe on Saturday. _________ According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Chelsea and Xavi Simons are moving forward. The player wants to join Chelsea, and everything indicates that an agreement with Leipzig for the Dutchman's transfer is close to being finalized. João is heading to Benfica, and his replacement will be Xavi Simons.
🚨 Bayern Munich set to make an improved offer for Luis Diaz and are prepared to pay up to €80m.Liverpool rejected a €67.5m bid, but Bayern remain intent on testing #LFC’s not for sale stance.🇨🇴 pic.twitter.com/gXvEtptDE1— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) July 23, 2025 Bayern Munich set to make an improved offer for Luis Diaz and are prepared to pay up to €80m. Diaz turns 29 in January. 80 ME is fine if Diaz has longevity like Salah. But there's a risk of him declining rapidly at his age like Mane too. Bayern only had to spend half as much on Mane due to expiring contract.
Lucho is a durable dude. He will be fine just don’t get liverpools point, I guess it’s what we talked about. The sale comes in right away while the purchase gets broken down over years but to me I’d raise Diaz’ salary and keep a player who has already proven himself with the team, the manager, is acclimated to the system and the teammates then pay Rodrygo much more than what I was willing to pay Diaz and have to spend 100 mill on him but what do I know lol
While I am with you on how inhumane conditions are in some ICE detention centers, I can't focus on US as a whole country because the list of their "problematic" policies and actions could fill books. Instead I'd rather focus on FIFA (as we're here to discuss football related topics) as an organization that built a World Cup in Qatar based on slave labour. Thousands of slaves were forced to work for free, dying in the desert heat with no water. And then people celebrated goals on top of their corpses. As far as things go that's pretty fking barbaric. Not that it's a competition, but I "boycotted" the 2022 world cup. I didn't watch even one match, nor follow any news or read articles about it. Didn't see the final or nothing. And my country played the semis and won the 3rd spot. So you could say I missed out big time. I was just genuinely disturbed by everything surrounding that tournament and didn't want to be a part of it in any capacity. I get that people were not happy to have a WC in the middle of the regular season, but I just wanted to remind there were bigger issues surrounding that tournament than inconvenient dates.

NEW: Malick Fofana isn’t a Diaz replacement - he’s a Chiesa replacement. Feels like there's so much movement but nothing really groundbreaking other than the Wirtz transfer this year. Isak would've been pretty large.
I think all of the movement was mainly between a handful of clubs. Outside of that nothing. At this point he seems like a means at which clubs wash and move money (launder).
Has to be more. His first transfer was like €125M! That right there should have been a warning that laundering was going on lol
Reminder that we offered 90 + a loan back to Benfica back then. Still,i think the player had a huge amount of talent which was wasted.
During the Nation's League games in Munich Adidas posted big promotional banners about it being about more than football and whatever and within two days the banners were plastered with graffiti "liars, greedy scum" citing the exact same thing you did. Football has deep roots in being used as a political tool, I think people that support this club should know that firsthand.
The amount of hand holding and shit taking you have to do in this country to earn that 3% (higher from endorsements) ain't worth it lol. Where we missed the boat was the podcast. We should have combined to make our own and we would be tremendously better and more valued that Managing Madrid. We had the voice, the juice, the people and we even joked about it. Never even tried to make the move. Now so many of those older members are gone and the time has passed.
But there was barely any outrage against the CWC nor the WC26 despite all these injustices and known human violations. I'm 100% sure if these concentration camps were being constructed in any Eastern nation there would be huge protests Worldwide over how 'barbaric' and 'backwards' such nations are. It wasn't 'slave labor'; these people willingly moved to Qatar and neighboring countries to work in construction, agriculture, etc. They were not working for free. This is no different than Western countries getting illegal migrants to work in low-end work, paying them below minimum wage, etc. The only difference is that your work visa in some Middle Eastern countries is tied to your sponsor [ie. the company who facilitated your arrival into the country]. Exactly! Why the double standard? Why are injustices in the Eastern nations magnified but when it comes to 'Western nations' this is swept under the carpet.
