The entire idea of them putting the Spanish team core together is kind of the headache because I remember the strongest German teams having a big chunk of their players within Bayern and Dortmund. It helps on both ends when players get this much familiarity.

Bought 10 shares (€56) in this club 13 years ago when they were in the 4th division and close to being wound up. Now look at them promoted to La Liga. Feeling like a proud ‘owner’ now lol #RealOviedo #OviedoSiempreDePrimera https://t.co/02w3NojaRH— Sherron Jabari (@jabari53) June 22, 2025

If Coman could ever stay healthy he'd be head and shoulders above every Bayern transfer target. Really unfortunate.
I don't like Diaz under Flick. He's frustrating and picks his moments but but is quality all through, I'm just seeing him hitting some next level of clutch like Raphinha if he heads there.
I think he’d be one of the absolute top tier players in the world, but the injuries are just too much. He does have a CL final winning goal though so he’s had a very successful career at the very top.

A lot of online sources talked about Nike losing ground in the football, despite stealing the German national team from adidas. In this graph, Nika actually seemed that way. IAnd was going to make a topic about it. But I just googled the topic. Nika has signed new deals with Barcelona, PSG, Brazil, Netherlands and Netherlands. They are still very in the game.
They are going into a different direction. Last time I went to their flagship store in Germany the only athlete on display was Michael Jordan, above the Jordan Brand section. The rest was regular people/models, the idea is that fewer people identify/buy pro athlete gear nowadays and more people buy athleasure/general brand shoes and clothes in which they feel comfortable in. Their partnership with Fanatics means they don't even produce a lot of the team related items any more, and because of fanatics specializing in low cost/quality products, it just makes the team merch stuff less desirable in my opinion. Bought a local team jacket for my birthday, they are produced by a local brand, which makes them a tad bit more expensive but it really hits all the right notes in quality. A friend of mine brought me a Monaco kit that he bought there going to the F1 race and it feels like a knockoff, really bad.
Yes, it does seem that they don't have as much star athlete for marketing. It also seems that the world lacks athlete with star quality. CR7 and Lebron are becoming history. VJ and Haaland will never become that. Mbappe has some issues while Bellingham is an adidas guy. The new basketball star players are not in the level of Lebron, Kobe, etc in terms of star marketing.
I think they did market studies and far less people said they buy athlete brand gear. Luka Doncic is a sensation but I've never seen his signature shoes in person, off court.
You probably have—if you’ve watched a lot of Zidane compilations. But how many players can you name who can not only receive a ball this high in the air, but actually control it? 99% of players would’ve just turned their back to shield it from the defender.
It's really odd how the phenomenon of athlete superstars has kind of died down across all sports. Why do you think that is? Overexposure due to internet/social media? Actual drop in quality?
I think you might need to dig a bit deeper. It's more common than you think it is at the top level. It's also been done even better. Outside of the foot? Yes please.
