More consistent at what, not winning the CL. Seriously though, Haaland is the type of player every coach wants in his toolbox. Mbappe's good and all but Carlo already had a couple of electric drills, the bigger problem was he had no screws and a box full of nails. What he needed was a hammer.
Oliver Glasner, the man who won the Europa League with Frankfurt, is now leading Crystal Palace to the same competition.
Haaland has played in 11 major semi-final and final matches for Manchester City without recording a goal or assist. -2022 Community Shield Final vs Liverpool – 1–3 loss -2023 FA Cup Semi-Final vs Sheffield United – 3–0 win -2023 FA Cup Final vs Manchester United – 2–1 win -2023 Champions League Semi-Final vs Real Madrid (2 legs) – 1–1 and 4–0 wins -2023 Champions League Final vs Inter Milan – 1–0 win -2023 UEFA Super Cup Final vs Sevilla – 1–1 draw (won on penalties) -2024 Community Shield Final vs Arsenal – 1–1 draw (lost on penalties) -2024 Champions League Semi-Final vs Real Madrid (2 legs) – 3–3 and 1–1 draws (lost on penalties) -2024 FA Cup Final vs Manchester United – 1–2 loss -2025 FA Cup Semi-Final vs Nottingham Forest – 2–0 win -2025 FA Cup Final vs Crystal Palace – 0–1 loss
I don't think Pep is well, this is a little more than the rivalry or pain we have from his barca team all those years ago or even the financial doping his current club engages in. He has built some teams that play very good football but I think mentally he's losing it. I really wish he had taken a step back, saved his marriage and gotten some time away from the game for his own mental health.
This mfs went broke when they spent all of their money on the tifo for the game against RM and tried to insult Vini, but got their ass handed to them.
Sporting win the Portuguese Liga for the 3rd time in 5 years after not winning it in the previous 19. Amorim leaving midseason left the club in some turmoil as the next coach laid a huge egg but they did enough. Gyokeres and the captain Hjulmand are probably gone this summer but they had a good run in Lisbon.
How would you feel about a Gykores transfer to Madrid? Would be really nice to have a proper CF and he might be the Gooden Boot winner as well.
I’d love it but it’s not likely so not something I think about. He’d feast on goals with TAA crossing the ball and Mbappe and Vini on either side. What he lacks in class on the ball he makes up for in tenacity, strength and finishing. Guy will score goals wherever he goes.
If RM settles for a starting forward with technical limitations, Haaland level would be the benchmark. Gyokeres is below that.
Honestly, another Joselu-like target man to allow us different options upfront would more than suffice.
Henderson is a very confident goalkeeper. And a damn good one at times. Pep wasn't going to intimidate him at all.
