On the contrary, I thank them for injecting that immense amount of money into Palmeiras' pockets, haha.
I love how you compare between at 18 year old that plays his first year in Europe(and under Carlo)to a 29 years old striker.
Simplemente @XabiAlonso 🥲#GraciasXabi | #SomosBayer04 🖤❤️ pic.twitter.com/3a4ANKs6YC— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_es) May 11, 2025 Fantastic sending off he received after the defeat since he’s the most successful manager in the clubs history
His supposed horrible season is still their second best Bundesliga season ever, with their best ever being last year.
I hope the send off for Carlo is even more spectacular. What Carlo has done at Real Madrid is nothing short of a miracle. But good times don't last forever.
The things to blame Xabi for aren't necessarily the results. Logical folks expected a bit of a down season this year with results coming back to reality and expectation. The internal tension and Xabi basically saying the season is over while the title was mathematically still in play, I didn't quite expect, but if we figure that concrete contact between him and Madrid began in December of 24, then that explains a lot. Xhaka who Xabi personally asked the club for seemed to be eternally thankful, others less so.
Barca vs Valencia youth teams, tons of people from clubs around Europe being in attendance to watch the David Otorbi kid Valencia have. He is getting very good reviews, Valencia recently stuck a 50 mil. buyout clause on him.
UEC proposes 5% of the CL money to go to clubs that developed players in the competition but do not actually participate in it. Valencia would receive 2 mil. of CL prize money under that principle. I like it.
The things Xabi will be blamed for here at Real Madrid are the results though, so it's irrelevant. If this team is 11 points behind Barca/Atletco in 1st place next season by Xmas, he's gone.
I'm not going to think like that. This attitude of self depreciation is annoying. Also something that's being talked about is that there's conflicting reports about the CWC. Some say Xabi doesn't want to be coaching the team there at all, others that he'd rather start tomorrow morning. With Carlo saying he'll speak about his situation after the last game, practically announcing Xabi for next season right away looks very aggressive.
FWIW I hope i am wrong and he gets this team clicking lead by Mbappe and the results flow. I said recently, this will be a stroke of genius to bring Xabi back or it's going to be a disaster. I'm still 50/50 on the appointment
That's how collective bargaining works. 5% is nothing in the big picture and could help clubs that develop players and don't reap the benefits tremendously. It's the clubs themselves that push for it, including those that play, other than us because we're out of any diplomatic relationship with the other clubs, obviously.
