Imagine a person who mocks others for being sensitive and saw nothing wrong wirh the songs and insults of his countrymen.... ...fabricating reasons and bending history to justify why a term is more offensive than what it actual is. Just lol.
I have used 'Argie' plenty of times, and also heard it used here a lot, but only ever as a shortened word for Argentinian, with no connotation attached. But I do appreciate words can have different meanings in different places, so I am certainly a little wiser now knowing that the word is not appreciated in Argentina.
The only insulting nickname I can think of for the English is when the French call us 'rosbifs', but tbh it's something here people find quite amusing because yeah, we do love a roast! It's hard to be offended by the name of one of your favourite meals
Looks like that reunion with us will never happen
Called this yesterday. Makes no sense for Hakimi to antagonize PSG when he could get paid well like Verratti. And he's dealing with legal issues too in France.
Right. I was just meaning the way it's used abroad (I guess specifically in Britain) and not domestically.
Luis Suarez was accused of being a racist by several people and he had bitten players too. Yet, a team like Basuralona came and got him. Maybe Enzo is looking for a new employer? Poor behavior hardly deters Basuralona. So maybe this will subsidize his transfer value so they can swoop in (like they did for Suarez and Dembele).
The only reason he went to Untied it's cuz they paid more than double than we would, and 1.5 times more the PSG. F**k,a total package of 70 mil euros(63 mil+7 in bonuses) for a 18 year old that got left with 1 year to his contract. 🚨🚨 NEW UNSEEN FOOTAGE: "They are going to go back to Colombia now with their a**holes open" Truly disgusting. Messi cannot use the excuse that he wasn't in the locker room now! pic.twitter.com/NVGBxX5Kg2— LLF (@laligafrauds) July 17, 2024 If there is one intolerable nation it’s Argentina.

Thank you for saying all of Argentineans are intolerable - no point against intolerance is better made than alleging that an entire nation is intolerant. Yeap, no hypocrisy there. But, what was the offensive thing in this video? The winning team singing a song saying that the opposition they just beat will be home home with their tails between their legs? This is YOUR proof that all of my nation is intolerant? Can I make a sweeping generalization about your nation and get away with it?
The hits keep coming with Argentina they barely beat a team that never wins anything and that played their worst game. im confident the revenge in September will not be pretty for them
Let’s stop with the blanket statements about countries and the people within them. We all know that’s simplistic and weak. Keep it civil.
Huh? A recent post was reported (not any of yours) and I am replying in response to that. I’m not even involved in this conversation.
Okay thanks for the context and that makes this even more ironic and hilarious. Imagine a person who is so insensitive they never understand how their words or the actions/words of their countrymen can possible ever be offensive.... ...all the while they make up a fabrication to say people shouldn't use a term they find offensive and they report others posts for daring to call him and his countrymen out for a culture of intolerance. I would say the hypocrisy mixed with sensitive and insecurity was incredible but it's so common with that type of person.
Did Mbappe really say that? Wow, obviously some racist undertones there (even if he didn't "mean it... that way"). I didn't bring it up before as it was a bit out of conext, but now that it's out there being discussed I've been reading alot of "dog whistle" racism this summer about how much better the European Cup (read as white) is than the Copa America (read as brown/red) in every aspect from players, to teams, to coaches, to FA's all the way up to CONMEBOL and CONCACAF. Um that I know of most Spanish speaking countries don't "hate" Spain, I know in Mexico they save those "feelings" for the United States.
You're accusing Mbappé of racism here, even if unintentionally so? I could see accusing him of cultural ignorance or something like that, perhaps, but what on earth does race have to do with this from what would be Mbappé's perspective? He's a black player on a team that is overwhelmingly black, he's not the guy protecting the white man's feelings about the Euros. Surely I'm misreading something.
Again, you take no agency over your actions. You prefer to make sweeping comments about entire nation in order to excuse your comments. You can go and do your own research, as anyone here can, and find out where, when, and why the term "argies" was created/used. I am not making that up, its out there for anyone here to research on their own. And lastly, your comment of "culture of intolerance" are you saying that all of Argentina is a country of intolerance? Do you not see your hypocrisy? You are constant making statements about an entire country. That's a first ballot hall of fame discriminatory/racist statement.
He may be black, he may be French but the one thing he's not is South America, hence, making his comments at least somewhat discriminatory. I don't make the rules but that's how it works.
