Let’s be honest—if Zidane wins, the narrative will be that he only returned when victory was guaranteed. Zidane just doesn’t get much love from the media. On the other hand, if Pep were caught with a check explicitly stating that depositing the check was acceptance of City’s explanation of why their spending wasn't financial doping, the conversation would still center on the “beautiful football” rather than the act itself.
Lol Im of the opinión that Zidane will never outoerform what he has allready achieved AND so why jump back into It.... If he coaches at club level again he Will always be the guy that did It with RM but couldnt do It elsewhere. Im perfectly happy never seeing Zidane coach again at club level. Hey allready gave me AND madridismo much More than was ever really expected of him.
Zidane has been waiting for French NT job since 2021. Problem is he might only get a shot if Deschamps decides to walk away after 2016. I don't think ZZ cares about what others think of him as a coach. Him and family has been living in Madrid since 2001 and not having to uproot his family seems to be a priority for him. French NT job would allow him and wife to live mostly in Madrid as well. In that sense, ZZ is like legendary NCAA coaches who has no interest in NBA, NFL no matter how much money they are offered and would rather work and live in one city for 30-40 years.
Oh, I get the cashgrabs that are bloated competitions. Everyone has their hand out for that sweet, sweet cash. The expansion of each and every competition, from the UCL to the WC may mean more cash for some, but it also amps up the sucktitude to a degree as well. I just think it makes for better competition for everyone if they were more divided by 'weight class.' There are plenty of bigger clubs for Young Boys to cash in on in the Europa League or the Conference, and they might actually win a match or two.
I reckon the sheer amount of increasing games might lead to the NBA load management syndrome in football. It only takes a few stars for that trend to start.
It's every league and international body that 'loads up' with fixture bloat. The UCL, the CWC, the 'supercopa' cashgrab, the nations league, and the expansion of the WC are all examples of this bloat. Its down to the clubs and the players to manage loads of their players and to protect their careers, unfortunately. But hey, at least Young Boys get their cash, amirite?
The players and coaches might whine about too many games, but I bet most wouldn't voluntarily take paycuts to reduce the number of games.
Finishing 1st or 3rd in NBA regular season doesn't make much difference to great teams. They don't load manage in playoffs. In football, contenders will load manage in domestic cup competitions at most. There are 2 teams fighting for league title usually and maybe 3 once in a while. Finishing 2nd doesn't mean much so those 2-3 contenders won't load manage with only small room for error.
I spend time at DAZN every couple weeks and i can tell you the writers and staff there consider Real Madrid one of the standout, if not THE standout organization in world football. I am convinced people are actively looking for an Anti Madrid bias to feed into the weird "they don't like us" narrative. Bayern fans do that as well despite basically the entire country being Bayern fans by now.
He would be a pretty good fit for us and I will die on this hill, Pep isn't utililizing him as well as he should. Yes his style is not too pleasing on the eye and maybe he is a bit wasteful but if Joselu was able to get 18 goals in a season with limited game time Haaland would get at least 40-50 easily. Pep has turned him into a robot in his pure positionist system, just look at how he played for Dortmund and you'll understand what I am talking about.
Haaland is the exact same player he was at Dortmund. If you think there's a difference, you haven't watched him enough there. It's not like his stats are lacking, clearly he's scoring a ton of goals. Perhapts the last bit of polish is missing, but that wasn't there in Germany either. Maybe it will never be there.
I'm a bit puzzled at all these Haaland mentions. Sure, a sensational finisher, but so was Mbappe for years. I see Mbappe's current performances as nothing more than a temporary hiccup. The amount of chances he's missing, and particularly the low difficulty ones, is nothing short of extraordinary for him, as he typically has exceptional and very accurate finishing. As soon as that hiccup is out of his system, and considering he's a more complete player, he'll be more useful for us than a player like Haaland. And yes, more useful as a CF. I say this all while also accepting that I'm disappointed in Mbappe's apparent lack of work ethic etc., but that's something that has been mentioned before (by myself aswel as numerous others).
https://www.footboom1.com/en/news/f...ue-and-i-have-to-accept-it-though-it-pains-me This dude must be trolling. he must forgot the second yellow that Gerard Martin didn't receive in the match against Celta.
Perhaps, but then players didn't get their wages adjusted for more matches added to UCL, either. And supporters b!tch about wear and tear on their clubs' players when they play in cashgrab international matches as well. (I know I do; I'm very much club >>>>>>>>>>>> country.) Or have their 1st XI players play in cups vs inferior opposition, or play lengthy minutes in the supercopa.
Dangerous ball into the box by Miguel, bad headed clearance and it falls to Van De Beek who scores with a volley. Girona are a goal ahead.
People are talking about the amazing season Raphinha is having but nobody talks about how AMAZING Salah in this season.
Because one is a decent player having a suprisingly great season, and the other is one of the greatest EPL players of all time having an exceptional season, like most of his other previous seasons. And besides, my impression is that Salah is getting his credits so far, but maybe I'm wrong.
Arsenal are just a sad joke. again they can't stand in the pressure and another season they won't win the EPL but they still can fight for their title - the top 4.
I think Zidane would get the kind of credit Pep gets if he had been more instrumental in putting the team together or there was something he could be identified with like a formation or style of play. Zidane basically took Carlos ideas about playing BBC in a 4-3-3 or playing CR7 centrally and Isco as LAM in a 4-4-2 but Zidane had Casemiro, Kovacic and Marcos Llorente whereas Carlo had been left without a DM in 14/15. Casemiro and Isco's eventually emerged as starting players but Carlo also had to deal with Bale and his agent making demands to the President while Zidane benefitted from those failed experiments (aka Rafa Benitez). Zidane's big signings were Hazard, an epic bust, and Mendy, who's really not that great. And he couldn't figure out how to use Vinicius who under Solari before him and Carlo afterward looked ridiculously dangerous but good old Zizou had him as a right back and left bench.
