Because not many so called historic giant clubs play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, where he actually slots in perfectly.

I am on the fence. One moment I like the deal, the other I'm upset we're losing such a talent.

I'm dying to know Zidane's thoughts on this.

Worked out like a charm for Morata.

I’m not saying it’s great. Just saying nobody at Inter has turned to Achraf and said you’re IT

Judging by his agent's comments he probably responded with "i know".

No way its 350 ME if its 2021. And I doubt anyone has close to that cash this summer either.

Espanyol is likely going down. Buy Roca for a reduced price and go after Camavinga next summer.

We have been saving up for this transfer for years now. That said, if we are paying ridiculous money, it has to be for this summer. Next summer, we have them over a barrel and they are in a very tough position.

Also the recent departures from the academy may soften their views on holding any more players hostage.

Regarding Alaba, if he wants 10 ME nett like Kroos earns at RM now, I don't see Bayern paying that. Even Lewandowski earns less than that apparently.

He's a great kid and a positive influence on other players. Bayern have to pay him.

How’s he really been as a CB? Is he elite at that spot or is his versatility still his biggest asset?

    He's an "everything".

    LB, CM, DM, CB

I think he has put in a shift at RB, winger and forward. Maybe 4x4s can confirm.

This summer is all about Operacion Salida.

Give me Camavinga and a couple of our loanees back and I will be happy. Most important thing is getting rid of Bale, James, Mariano, Lucas, etc.

Let’s be smart yet again this summer to clear way for Mbappe in 2021.

Alaba is crucial to Flick’s play style. Sounds like Boateng and Thiago on their way out, Alaba has the club over a barrel right now.

He has looked great there but I’d like to see him tested against some better competition. I’m not sure if he has the strength to handle some of the more physical strikers

I'm just not seeing where Alaba's fit here is.

That sounds silly, I suppose; he's David freakin' Alaba, you fit the squad around him, right? But what I'm getting at is that he's played LB for most of his career. Well, we've got Mendy who looks like a superstar in the making at that position, we've got Reguilon who's progressing wonderfully at Sevilla, and Marcelo is still around as well, though he's obviously a non-factor in any Alaba talk. And Alaba has also played CB this year, in a bit of a pinch mind you, but adapted to the position very well. Now, does he want to remain a CB or return to LB? Even if he's ok with remaining a CB, Ramos might be getting up there in age, but he's going to be a starter at Real Madrid until the day he either leaves the club or retires. And Varane's going nowhere either. Unless Zidane suddenly gets the idea of playing some 3ATB defensive base - something Alaba also has some experience with from his time playing under Pep - Alaba would be displacing a surefire starter somewhere. It's just as likely that something like that wouldn't happen because there isn't the need for it.

If he's ready to leave Bayern, I wouldn't be surprised. He's an 8x Meisterschale winner there, also won several Pokals, and has won a CL title and might win another one this year as well. He was a key player in all of those campaigns; his status as a Bayern legend is secure whether he stays there or not. But I'm not really seeing his future making the most sense coming here. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned up at Juve or somewhere in England in greater likelihood...or G-d forbid Barcelona if they decide to move on from Semedo although I feel like Semedo is criminally underrated.

Semedo may be underrated but there’s no comparison IMO between him and Alaba, on another note Semedo is a RB, one position I’ve never seen Alaba play is RB

You're right. I think my brain skipped a step there at the end, thinking about any chance of linking Alaba and Barcelona and I immediately thought of Semedo instead of Alba. That last sentence can pretty much be disregarded.

Yeah Alaba stays.I like his versatility but on LB we have too many players as well on RB,CB we might need someone..I dont know how well is alaba as CB
