He is, but that alone won’t be enough if we want to buy the best talent that everyone else is after.

Of course that alone isn’t enough but it plays a role. Who knows which one of the youngsters we have or will sign move to us with Zidane being the tipping point.

It's pretty obvious why. Trophy winning coach of the biggest club in the world and has great experience with youth. It would make a young player forget about staying in his club for another year or jump to another bridging club and join Madrid instantly.

Madrid has never been so attractive for the best youth players like it has been the past 5-7 years.

It’s why I’ve maintained I can see how the “oil clubs” with endless money can attract some of the best players , but reputation history and tradition still matter for others, both club wise and in our case manager wise, not just money alone, especially at a club where they won’t exactly be earning peanuts, I still believe that to be true

Immediate thought is this is true. Nobody is going to play until Benz retires, period.

Benz will be 33 next season.

If Zidane starting rotating Cristiano fking Ronaldo at that age, Benz will see his minutes reduced. I really think he just doesn't trust Jovic one iota (Mentally, not talent wise) and doesn't rate Mariano for shit (which is a shame)

Last thing i heard from Dortmund is that we haven't given them a definitive answer yet.

I should also add that Dortmund reportedly have an agreement with Meunier because Achraf told them given the chance he'd rather return to Madrid.

Cherki looks amazing, but I don't know how he fits especially when players lose their minds if they don't start every match.

His contract runs out in 2022. Maybe we should sign him in 2021 and loan him back to Lyon for another season.

Let's say we did do that. We would have...

    Hazard
    Vinicius
    Rodrygo
    Jovic
    Brahim
    Reinier

    Added possibly...

    Mbappe
    Another Striker

How do we fit Cherki? Even if in the future we were allowed to play a dynamic 4231, with Valverde and Camavinga in midfield... Odegaard is there.. and others.

We would really need these players to have a change in mindset when it comes to playing and we would need Zidane to rotate all positions and not keep his handful of "untouchables".

I think we get two good years out of Hazard if we are lucky. Can't see him being top quality in 2022 with his tendency to get overweight and recent injuries. Brahim has been overlooked by ZZ this season for the likes of Lucas. I think he goes to Sevilla/Valencia club next before moving to a big club ala Sarabia. Jovic is most likely gone this summer if we can get Haaland. Vinicius is a keeper and starting quality if his finishing improves with age and experience. Rodrygo could turn out to be another Asensio which is not bad as a rotation player which Asnesio was for RM 2016-18. Great if he can become more than that.

I think Cherki is the closest to the young Hazard with his dribbling skills and close control. We signed Hazard in late 20s after Lille and Chelsea got the best of him. Cherki is also rated as the best Lyon youth product since Benz. If he develops as expected, it'd be like signing a young Hazard. He's only 16 so by the time he turns 19-20, Hazard is unlikely to be an untouchable starter. I'd wait to see how he plays at Lyon next season and get him for cheap in 2021 with a year left in his contract. And Lyon will get to keep him for an year or two on loan.

    - Both Vinicius and Rodrygo are young cracks.
    - Mbappe is a megacrack.

Even in a future scenario where we replace Jovic for Halaand, where do you find enough minutes to make Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Reinier, Jovic/Halaand and Cherki happy?

The only way would be a 4231 as I stated however even in that mold Odegaard would be the middle.

These players detest resting and take it as an afront when they don't start. So how do we make this work?

You haven't factored in Renier, Kubo or Odegaard.
