And.... if you have a .mac subscription, you can use that email address (or an alias of it) as your Messenger address.
Why not use something like Adium? Not only can it run MSN, but it can also connect to several other IM clients so you're only running one program, instead of four or five.
Does Airport Extreme still give me the functionality to play music wirelessly? I didin't see a plug in the picture up on the Apple website. Thanks
I found that if you ONLY have MSN (as I do), the simple, stripped down version available for Mac is great. Use Skype for video chat.
Went and got a 1gb memory chip this afternoon, and a copy of Tiger. We'll see how it goes. Performance had gotten so bad it had to be done, even though Leopard is coming out soon. I'm hoping this will help my mac to make it another couple of years. We shall see.
ok got a new one fer ya'... bought a "they might be giants" cd. "No" is the title. it is an enhanced cd. it has a handful of things that you can do, kinda like a kareoke cd. but it doesn't work on mymachine. the music will play but not the extras. here is a quote from the disc: "What makes "No" even more fun is that this is an enhanced CD that includes special interactive sequences that allow you to both listen to the music and play along to animated segments - as well as sing along to a display of the song's lyrics. It's compatiable wih PC or Mac." anyone? thanks in advance.
Are you sure it's compatible with a 1gb chip? Based on what you have said, I'm guessing it might not be. You may need two 500s.
First question: why do you want to run those things? Are you getting an error message? What are you using to try to run the animated stuff?
lol. "family" activity. my kids would like it, i thought... this is the messaage: "you cannot open the application "start" because it is not supported on this system."
It sounds like you are clicking on the windows application start file - there isn't a separate folder for mac files?
Hopefully somewhere more savy than me comes along - if it were me, I'd probably just try clicking on a few things - like if there were a zip file that stuffit expander could open. Did you see some of the stuff online for kids? http://www.giantkid.net/indexKill.html
I might offer a "caution" here on the enhanced Wintel CD-ROMs with several multi-media Windows formats; I had one get locked in MacBook and it took a bit of engineering to get it removed. Be careful...
this same thing happened to me already...not a big fan of theirs and the thought of that cd being stuck in my mac kinda pissed me off a bit..then it finally popped out...ugh.
Runs outstanding. Well behind the times, but I love the widgets. That move saved me the cost of a new laptop. Moving to Tiger though seems to make my computer run a great deal hotter though.
got a new one for ya'... my scrool mouse won't scroll up and down anymore. it only scrolls down. how do i fix that? thanks in advance.
