Is it safe to add Sunderland alongside Leeds and Sporting on our list of feeder clubs?

OT better be ringing out. It'll be sad if our support is like they were against Spurs.

We're going to win this match because NM started the thread.

i remember a 2-2 draw when they first came up and Nicky Butt got the equalizer in the 88th

so based on that im going for 2-1. Giggs & Scholes

the old guard for Ole

Ole, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, and Keano all in the park at once. Wow. That's worth the watch all in itself.

I sure hope Ole is in attendance.

I think this is what we are going to see:

    ------------------------------VDS-----------------------------
    ---------------Vidic--------------------Rio-----------------------
    Brown--------------------------------------------------------Evra
    ----------------------------Hargreaves-------------------------
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------Scholes--------------Carrick--------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Nani--------------------------------------------------------Giggs---
    ---------------------------Tevez-------------------------------------

Subs: Kuzzy, Saha, Anderson, Oshea, Fletcher
What I would like to see, especially as we are playing at home and no offense Keano but Sunderland aren't the best of teams is:

    ------------------------------------VDS--------------------------------
    ----------------------Rio-------------------------Evans---------------
    Simpson-----------------------------------------------------------Evra
    ---------------------------------Hargreaves---------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------Carrick/Scholes---------------------------
    Nani----------------------------------------------------------Giggs
    ---------------------Saha-------------Tevez------------------------

Subs: Kuzzy, Anderson, Carrick/Scholes, Brown, Oshea

The first line-up is pretty obvious because it is what we have been using, but given our opponents, and the fact that Simpson and Evans both have played there for half a season it means they will know the team pretty well, and if they are good enough to play with that team I am sure they are more the qualified to play against Sunderland in the Manchester United kits, and they will gain experience. Also I would start Saha because unless he gets injured before the game there is no reason why he shouldnt last 60 minutes which is when we can give Anderson his debut.
I am almost positive we wont see my preferred line-up but oh well, I really hope to see Anderson play a part in this one, and Saha get a game.

This would be my ideal lineup. I'd start Anderson just behind Saha since Scholes has no idea how to play that role anymore and would rather be a deep lying playmaker. Carrick will have to sit this one out just for now. He and Scholes could rotate in the DLP position. Fletcher rotates with Hargreaves. I'm also willing to give Simpson a chance for the sake of balance at both fullback positions.

    -----------------VDS---------------------
    Simpson------Rio------Vidic--------Evra

    ----------Scholes------Hargreaves

    -------Nani------Anderson-------Tevez

    ------------------Saha--------------

I am thinking we'll see the same line up as the one we had against Spurs, with Saha in for Carrick being the only exception.
    Good old 4-4-2.

    7-0.

Keano is a legend, but screw him and his team today. We need all three points.

There's no way you can drop hargreaves after his performance last Sunday. Also, why drop Rio? He had 1 bad game, so what? We need to keep the chemistry in our defense, not chop and change.

absolutely agree with your formation, just replace hargreaves with carrick as sunderland do not keep possesion very well.giggs has been below average this season.

I want to see a 4-4-2 with either Hargreaves or Carrick to partner Scholes but there is no one to partner Tevez... There seems to be some sort of mental issue with Saha they he keeps refusing to play... even if Saha plays, I don't know how sharp he will be since I haven't seen him kicking a ball for six months.

I don't mind seeing Eagles starts a match..

    Brown--Vidic--Rio--Evra

    Eagles--Scholes--Carrick/Hargreaves--Nani

    Tevez--Giggs

We do not require a ball winner in this match a sunderland will give away the ball
themselves. But carricks passing ability might give us extra impetus in attack.
