Well this is big news, for the first time in its history Lyon are through to the quarter finals. Lyon is also the first French team to make the CL quarters since Monaco in 1998. I only saw the last 30 minutes as I rushed home from school to catch the webcast, but looks like Lyon dominated the match.

    Your thoughts.

That was a very tense match in the first match.
Lyon didn't know what to do, to attack or defend, it was obvious that they were holding back.
The second half was more lively, with la real having to score therefore opening up more.
They almost scored on a corner kick, with a header from Karpin ( i think ), stopped on his line by deflandre with.....his head. OUF.

    Then came the liberation.
While i'm glad about this qualification, it must be said, that playing like that against bigger teams will lead lyon to the exit in the next round.
They have too many chances they don't waste, and seem fragile at times.

I will end by saying that i've never seen so many ball wasted by a team in the CL ever so far.
Lyon are thru, but they played a very poor team, so let's not get carried away.......but nobody is anyway.

i don't agree with you, Lyon played well but they were unlucky. They had way more dangerous actions than Real Sociedad. The problem is that they had to make la real defend while being strong in the defense also, they couldn't play too much offensive. But la real only had 1 dangerous action, Lyon defense did great, they made NO mistake. And don't forget that Florent Malouda isn't a defender.
