After watching the Sunderland netflix doc (and being funemployed; is this how most of you guys do it?) really wanted to watch this one. Have only found the FA match so far but will keep looking
Foooound one. Gooch is alone on an island as the right of a front 3. Had one hold up link moment, one time he floated deep to get the ball and release a teammate clear down the wing. Cross was then on the doorstep for the number 9 but he miffed on a ~70% chance. Moments later he had a heavy touch and lost if but pressured well. Then Accrington broke one time, crossed it in for a pretty easy goal. 2-1 Accrington, Sunderland just now got a goal back. Crowd has some life now
Sunderland with a great period of 8+ minutes and McGeady makes it 2-2. Gooch not involved, but he's been desperate to contribute. I can see him being a fan favorite, he's got a great motor and attitude. When McGeady tied it up, Gooch sprinted across the field both hands up to celebrate
Ugh, he then wins a freekick that misses just narrowly, cleared off the line by a defender who'd scampered back to the line just moments before. That shot is half a second earlier or half a foot different and it's a goal
He then trucks a much bigger defender on the ball to get into the box, moments late he feeds into Will Grigg who turns his defender beautifully and then sees two successive shots blocked by sprawling defenders. Still 2-2, 70' Sunderland look very soft in the back but also look more likely to score. Great game
75' #SAFC 2-2 #ASFC @10LewisMorgan comes on for @LyndenGooch. 15 to go...Come on Lads!! pic.twitter.com/ToU2rkuoIf— Sunderland AFC (@SunderlandAFC) February 15, 2019
He comes off at 76', probably a fair call. He did well but seems to be more of a shuttler than his attacking counterparts. They looked brighter offensively but Gooch worked very hard. He's a burly boy and given his intensity (you could almost see his heart going a mile a minute) no surprised he's gassed. He's very much in the Shaquiri mold...not phased by dudes much bigger than him
Man, ends 2-2. Sunderland probably did enough to warrant the 3rd but just couldn't find it. Had all of the ball for the last 15 or so. Apparently Stanley's best player came off injured just before I tuned in and that allowed Sunderland to get back in. They now further their league leading draws total to 14...

Chris Maguire went out injured early (18') and Gooch replaced him. They have several injured players at this point, so I suspect Gooch will be starting often. They won 4-2, two goals before Gooch came in, two goals after.
That might explain their recent slip.......be that as it may its going to be a task to catch high flying Luton and Barnsley. What was once looking like a sure thing for Sunderland promotion is now officially a dogfight.
Not in the 18 today. Might be injured. Where’s gooch??!— stevenbell16 (@StevenBell2002) February 23, 2019 injured I think...he was limping at the end on tuesday— Paul Wood (@woodybp26) February 23, 2019
Sunderland picked up a 2-0 win while Barnsley dropped points. Need a W to jump Barnsley with the game in hand whenever it comes, currently Goal Diff wont cut it, as they are 4 back from barnsley in that department

Won 2-0 and advance to the final vs. Portsmouth for the EFL Trophy (cup for lower divisions). Gooch played the second half, doesn't seem to have been involved in the goal they scored in that half.
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...s/lynden-gooch-playing-wembley-dream-15928617 Lynden Gooch: Playing at Wembley is a dream and I feel ready after recovering from dip in form Lynden Gooch had a dip in form around the turn of the year, but he feels sharp again and excited about the prospect of playing at Wembley Sunderland booked their spot in the Football League Trophy final with a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday. It set up a March 31 meeting with Portsmouth.
A little hamstring issue did slow Gooch up a little but I guarantee having a newborn in the house has contributed to that dip as well. Rightfully so.

Today is a six-pointer. Barnsley is ahead of them by four point, in the fight for the second (and last) auto-promotion spot. A win today would be big for Sunderland, but since they're playing away, it's unexpected.
Huge game. Sunderland is 4 points behind Barnsley for 2nd place (and automatic promotion) with a game in hand.
