Oleg Luzhny, whose contract expires at the end of this season, has stated that if he is "surplus to requirements" for next season then he wants to stay in London. "There is no way I am leaving this city" he says.
It says a lot for London.
My feelings are that he will be "surplus to requirements" and that Fulham, or West Ham, (that pasture for ageing AFC players) could possibly be the choices.

Sky Sports said Charlton was the front runner...

That could be. I haven't seen the Sky Sports programme. I was expressing a personal opinion, but certainly would add Charlton to that list. I had forgotten all about them!

West Ham is the place for Oleg. I think he'd do good there.

What, as opposed to, say, Donetsk? ;)

PS- A couple of weeks ago I was doing the NY Times Sunday puzzle, and the clue was "Ukraine city." As I considered my spelling options for Kiev / Kyiv, I was shocked when it wasn't four letters, but seven. I knew in an instant what it must be! Soccer geography rules!
