well done Luton town fc in getting into top flight on merit! i am overjoyed that Luton is in the top flight of English football for these 3 reasons did you now as of 29 May 2023 (anniversary of Heysel (which luton had nothing to do with) but will discuss that elsewhere) Luton 1. WORST PLACE to live in england 2023. 2. Kenilworth Road worst stadium in 2023. "Having visited 86 of the 92 league grounds, this is by far the worst in my opinion. Entering the ground through the tightest turnstiles you ascend a metal staircase over back gardens. Viewing very poor from the away end due to the abundance of thick pillars. Toilets disgusting.. Ugly dated ground, with one side consisting of "executive boxes" A real dump, no wonder they are so keen to move to a new ground, 3. 1982-1992 Luton were in the top flight was the worst period in English league football ever (officially 1980's English football voted worst period in English football history in 442 magazine poll) i.e. Kenilworth road was where the Luton v Milwall fa cup riot in 1985 happened, lowest crowds etc. not a good omen for English football to have Luton town in top flight.
seat 20,000, and feature a moveable grass pitch. Kohler dubbed the plan the "Kohlerdome", and compared it to the Pontiac Silverdome, which had hosted matches at that summer's World Cup. where luton town fc would be playing to at but for "the then Labour government in 1997 " who blocked it but hay who needs this stadium (which would be the best stadium in england) when you can have this instead ( Kenilworth Road (worst stadium in world in 2023) thankfully Kenilworth road's has a capacity of 10,356 so less people meaning only 10,356 people will have to suffer this unique stadium. However the fa premier league have said that as of May 17th 2023 that only if £10 million of changes are made to the stadium will it stage premier league football in 2023/2024 season). you thoughts about luton town fc in top flight please.
I wonder if people could pick the list of clubs they would most like to see in the premier league where luton town fc's name would sit. I suspect on top of the list. but i may be wrong. I am so full of enthusiasm at the prospect of Luton town in premier league in season 2023/2024 season. makes a visit to the Cumberland centre look appealing in comparison.
It just seems that Luton Town FC need a preverbal kick up the back side in order to make improvement changes that will make people enjoy rather than endure going to Luton Town FC matches at Kenilworth Road! Enjoy: take delight or pleasure in (an activity or occasion): Endure: suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently.
too much of Luton Town Football club certainly it's stadium are reminiscent of the state English football was in the 1980's. Rundown, neglected slum and while most of the games in England has modernized to a decent standard, Luton Town have not bothered to make the need improvements to it's stadium. the £10 million of improvements being forced upon Luton town football club in order to get it's stadium fit for the Premier League could of and should been done years ago. other clubs with lesser money resources like but not Bristol city modernized to a decent standard thier stadia. it is sad that Luton are only making these changes because they being forced to do so. Also Luton's stadium was the location of the luton v Milwall 1985 riot in the fa cup in 1985. thankfully nobody has been killed at or because of Kenilworth road stadium and lets hope it stays that way but if neglect is allowed to go unchallenged in regard to stadium it increase the chanes of people dying in a stadium. that is why I am glad that Luton Town are in the Premier League so that thier stadium will either be improved to a decent standard or nor not used during the season 2023/24.
Amazing. This also means that, as of 2023/24 season, Notts County will be the only club never to have played in the Premier League but who have received a PL parachute payment.
Part of the reason for the creation of the FA Premier League was to get away from the state English football was in 1985 and cosine dumps like Luton Town FC 's Kenilworth Road to history. Bing Videos creation of the fa premier league. Why should we put our limited time into putting up with rubbish like Kenilworth road when it could and should be jazzed up American style decades ago! Many sport clubs with equal to or less resources than Luton Town have managed to turn their stadium from a dump to a decent standard None of these have had access to the riches of the FA Premier League or a rich owner to fund their stadium improvements so why have they managed to do it but Luton town did not? answer in Luton town's neglect. Neglect is and has caused different disasters. a few being St Johnstone Crewe Alexandria Millwall Preston North End Rotherham ect
Put me in the camp that finds Luton Town being in the PL interesting. Sports are meant to be interesting.
If you ever go to their town, you may find them less interesting, but I otherwise agree with that sentiment, that they will make things interesting.
Is Luton Town Football Club's promotion to the Premier League in 2023 better than Leicester City wining the Premier League in 2016? I would say yes! Best laugh I have had in ages.
How have the newcomers to the Premier League strengthened? How have the newcomers to the Premier League strengthened? 🧐https://t.co/Wgf4FQvl4u— ruiksport.com (@ruiksport) August 1, 2023
at least they will give us a harmless laugh in the premier league in season 2023/24. seriously needed as the Premier League has become a bit bland.
But seriously the Premier League has become like an a open bottle of fizzy pop that has been open for 31 years lots of fizz at the start but now quite flat. query: Which club from outside the Premier League would be it be best for them to be promoted into the league to make the Premier League more entertaining?
Since 1974 3 teams have been promoted to the top flight of English league football yet in some years some clubs promotion to the top flight is more liked talked about than other clubs promotion to the top flight by most people but why?
Luton will be straight back down again and then again into obscurity so the PL won't have to suffer their ground if it's as bad as stated.
Although I know that to be 100% true, I really do hope they stay up and send Everton, Wolves, and Bournemouth down.
HARD to see them staying up. Everton with Dyche should escape and maybe Sheffield Utd might be another candidate for relegation. Luton play Chelsea on Saturday, not sure what's going to happen.
@Chickasaw Everton and Wolves both have big financial problems. Everton lost a potential investor just today. I had them pegged to go down last season and I must admit Dyche did an amazing job saving them, but I'm not sure he can pull them by the bootstraps again.
They play each other this weekend, might tell us a lot. Yes, he did well but I don't see Dyche as Everton, more a stopgap.
