Hope it works out. We need another forward or two. And he would be a great fit because we already saw what he could do with this team last year. There really wouldn't be an adjustment period.

    Make it happen US government.

I know they said the door may still be open over the summer but I honestly didn't expect anything to come of it, I'm glad they're still trying to work things out.

Please... I miss Luke, he'd be the perfect sub/rotational starter.

Luke, Cooper, Henry. I see goals. Lots of goals.
This is the sort of thing I see happening frequently:
Red Bulls leading after 65 mins, Cooper or Henry come off, Rodgers comes on and slots in another goal just to finish things off. Beautiful.

Sorta like the LA 2011 strategy?

What a beautiful dream indeed! :D

Edit: OMFG!! I just had a vision of Lade and Rodgers on the field at the same time. Flying under the radar and destroying defensive ankles everywhere!!

No idea. Intraweb says 5 games, 1 goal. They are just above relegation.

Apparently he's had an injury issue during his time there so it has limited his playing time.

How long is his contract with his current team? I'm assuming his contract is atleast one season meaning he won't be able to join us this year, unless, if he comes on as a transfer.. That might make it difficult and his team might just say no to us especially if no money is guaranteed.

We might need to look elsewhere. One player that I think would be a good pickup is Alan Gordon on San Jose. He's tall, physical and can be a different type of striker than Cooper and Henry, more of a target/physical striker rather than the false #9 in Henry and Cooper. He's a pretty good player and has a good track record of scoring off the bench and has been a sub/spot starter for most his career. He's not expensive, cheap and San Jose seems to have good forward depth(Wondo, Lenhart, Dawkins,)

I would trade Miller for Gordon and either a Draft pick or some type of compensation, thoughts??

Rodgers contract is up at the end of the Norwegian season. No idea when that is but I think it still is possible for him to join us with out transfer...

Soler said the odds of him returning were better than 50/50 and indicated that his visa situation would be the only road block.

No offense.. .but no freaking way. Gordon is not that good! Miller ain't great but he is more valuable than AG. Besides Miller has 4 assists this season.

Miller is good depth but he is a major liability on defense and now we are starting to have some nice depth in the backline, he's expandable. I wouldn't trade him for AG straight up Per Se but if we can one of the following: A decent draft pick, allocation money or another player I think it's a solid trade.

    Exactly.

I don't understand all the hate towards Miller. His overlapping run and cross in the box let us get 3 points in Montreal. No, he's not the best left back either defensively or even offensively, but he is pretty solid most times, and does work pretty well with who ever is above him.

He makes critical errors in defense pretty often and his offensive contribution really isn't that great.

He's a decent MLS caliber LB who will get you through a season, but as we have seen in the past 2 post-seasons if you pick on him enough he will meltdown in a critical game.

He's a good attacking player from the LB position but that's about it.. He has poor position defensively, get's burnt, ball watches, stupid mistakes, etc...

Miller has been burnt on numerous occasions. I don't think he's the worst and I think he's a good sub but he's just not needed anymore. With the acquisition of Pearce and the emergence of Lade I would rather get some pieces we can use.

Again I'd take Gordon and a 1st or 2nd rounder for him anyday..

I don't rate Gordon at all and draft picks are complete crap shoots (although Red Bull seem to be able to weed out some good ones).

I think we could get a better piece for Miller.

Miller isn't the only defender we have that get's burned. He's not even the worst at it.

And, to be honest, the MLS is full of defenders that get burned.

Gordon is not a bad player at all... He has 4 goals this year in 7 appearances, all from the bench I think. Throughout his career he has a good track record of scoring off the bench and that's what we need in our #3 option. Roy Miller is a disaster waiting to happen in the backline. I also want to free up PT for Lade who is clearly the better option(younger, cheaper, better)

And draft picks are always a valuable asset. Like you mention we have done a good job at drafting and we can always use them as a trade piece(something we do often)
