La Norte needs to be in 120 next year. Whether we are seven or seventy, we bring the same amount of passion and noise. As much as I respect the Eagles and Barra Brava, I dread the thought of just being a face in the crowd. I think it is a matter of working harder to get our numbers up consistantly for next season, and I think we can do it. So do you! ;-)
How did you guys get the purple youth soccer team over in La Norte?? Looked and sounded good last night.
They are in town, from Pittsburgh, for a tournament. They were there to get a glimpse of L.D. They started to make DC noise after we surged in front but hey I will let them in again.
Kevin, please. The girls there saying they were there to see Landon used that only as a cover. Notice how none of them were there before I got there...geez. I liked having half of 120 being blonde girls my age though...
hey Eric youre right, as long as the core who has been showing up for LA NORTE shows up we are awesome. I do have a couple of things that we can improve on. 1. Lets make sure we greet the opposing team under thier tunnel when they walk in and walk out during before and at halftime. I Never saw Landon so intimated. 2. Lets make sure we work on are entrance and make it as good as are dparture. LETS make sure we leave togther and celebrate Espcially after a big win like last night. 3. I will try to figure out a better way of tracking sales for are tickets and do a better job on that. Props to everyone who showed up and celebrated with us
Fellow Lords of the North, here are my thoughts on Saturday's match: 1-This was the best match I've seen United play all year. Finally, the boys weren't afraid to get stuck in and dog it out for some goals. I wish they'd been attacking at our end for the second half, but seeing Rimando save our butts was fun, too. 2-Luis told me that we hardly sold any tickets for 120, but somehow we managed to get a gang of Landonians in for the second half. I shouldn't say they were cute (which they were, heheh), but it pissed me off having the Promised Land of the Northside invaded by infidels. How the hell can they get in, but longtime Nortenos still get asked for ticket stubs? Anyone reading this who has anything to do with security, couldn't you have put them in section 119 or 121? 3-Ali Curtis came over during the half and showed us some love. That was sweet...if only we could get more players over there. Ray-Ray Hudson giving us props wasn't too bad, though. 4-The post-game was great, especially with the feeling of victory. But did anyone see the blurb given to the game in Sunday's Post? That tool Steven Goof (sorry, Goff) said the offensive explosion was rare...granted, it was, but a little partisanship wouldn't hurt, seeing as how they fellate the Redskins every chance they get. 5-Next match: 14 September, against the Scum. EVERYONE who ever was, is, or plans to be a Norteno (Sachin excluded for obvious reasons), MUST come if at all possible. DC United need us now more than ever. We are a hair's breadth from the playoffs, and the lads need all the support they can get. I'll try my best to bring new people; everyone else, if you can bring 'em, bring 'em! If you can paint up for the match, do it. We need to throw down as never before, for three things are at stake: A-a playoff spot; B-the Atlantic(?) Cup; C-the pride of beating the Scum. I cannot wait for the 14th. Victory will be ours. If we can get it done against New England on the 7th, we will definitely bring down the house when the Scum come to town. I'll try to think of some new songs, too. Josh
OK the real show was the guy playing the drum and you know who that was -------->ME<------- not Landon (pretty boy) and no offence but it wasn't you Thamlin. Oh Yeah!!!!! what ever. To the real stuff. I'm glad the the die hards are going to ride this season out. If we make or we make it. The same people make LN and I thank them for it. True DIE HARDS. I also like the cameos that come to LN. The girls last week. SAMS ARMY. Talon even we trow crap at him. the occasional drunk from SEC. 119 or 121. This season has been the best. But we have to figure a way out to keep the Fakes out and the true DCU fans in. Well see you next week fellas and keep it real. Pep
I spent the 2nd half in La Norte for the first time, and really enjoyed it. I'll have to drop by there more often...I was standing right behind the guys with the drum.
Come join us! As Sachin would say, it's 90 minutes of passion (plus stoppage time)...and as I'm sure you noticed, we'll keep going without the drum!
Hey Ricky... hope you make more games. I was stuck in Lynchburg so I couldn't make this one. Get your checkbooks out people, 2003 season ticket sales are right around the corner. Sachin
Yeah...it was great when the drum broke. Josh, I don't think insulting Steven Goff on these boards or anywhere for that matter is very warrented. He is one of the best sports writers in the country, and we are lucky enough to have him covering our local soccer team in our local paper. He also has been known to post information ahead of time about the team on these boards, but I think it's posts like those that are behind the reason he hasn't done that so much lately. Those girls can come back anytime, they cheered for Donovan, but they also got some songs in for United as well. If you ask yourself, who COULDN'T cheer for Donovan after he schooled Eddie Pope and then later Pope and 3 other DC defenders to score. He is good soccer at it's best, and he will only continue to get better, so I'm not going to whine about them wanting to see him up close and cheering for him. At least they're coming to MLS games.
