I find It absurd that Club Brugge went with Helibelton instead of Orejuela. Luis has the potential to be the best right back in Netherlands and would have been already starter for them, hopefully he works hard to earn that spot in the main team of Ajax. I wouldn't find It surprising if he ends up playing as a wing back (his ideal position in a 3-5-2) or winger eventually.

He Will be very hard to replace for Cali. Delgado is decent but isn't half as influential as Orejuela can be on a good day.

dutchs are so arrogants , they dont give proper chances .....last year one said the same thing about mateo casiera

that league sucks, their nt and now they want that players of other ocuntries have to play their style

I think it has more to do with an expectation of reaping the reward immediately and not allowing enough time for the player to mature . In other words, find a diamond in a rough, and if shiny you make a gazillion $$$....but if not you just throw It away and find a new rock. or it could be that the player does really suck and they don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Like it or not Ajax has been a breeding ground for young talent for decades so it’s likely the latter.

I think they are exaggerating. We all know this guy is a good player.

Do you remember Arias playing in Portugal, he was hardly used and then he moved to Holland and not only became a starter but also one of the best in his position.
Not succeding in Holland in his first season doesnt make him a bad player. As for Arias, there are many factors that can lead to bad performances specially at that age and in a new league(new country, language, friends, food, far from the family etc).

He has enough time to develop into a player with the capacity of playing in the best leagues in the world.

How is his defending? I remember him being very good attacking player don’t remember his defending

As for biggest loss. For all the money they made on Sanchez. They can buy 8 more expensive Colombians that can fail and they still made a crap ton

    1. Players deserve opportunitiy to prove what they are going (he havent had a lot )...and they need adaptation.
    2. ajax isnt what was before, for example dont remember who was the last crack of his youth system.....

In the other hand the new incorporation nicolas tagliafico argentino from independiente that plays as left back was named man of the match yesterday.......so i dont understand when you say that colombian league is the same as argetine league........it is clear that argentine players are more prepared and adquired more knowledges in their league

Tagliafico's a bit older though and has more experience than Orejuela. Was also captain for Independiente and just won a sudamericana.

I might be wrong but Orejuela didn't really have too many games at the top flight under his belt when he left Cali.

crzd, we've talked about this many times already.

Cassierra is on loan at Groningen, but he has not done well according to what i've read, I think he's with their B team.

Ajax have no interest in Orejuela but they couldn't find someone to sign him so they're just dealing with it.
