I can't wait for both those dudes to fail.... I want Liverpool to not even make Champions league next season

not because of Diaz but for dropping 600m.... that shit shouldn't be happening

Great post by Salah, they could have celebrated the signings without offending Lucho and Darwin. I think that Isak is an upgrade but Wirtz could or could not work, and with just 3 games under their belt and a full season ahead, it is too early to write something like that.

The amount of money they dropped when they only needed 3 or 4 players (plus working out Lucho's contract) is a little stupid. But hey, if they have the money, they have to spend it, don't they?

Lucho will do better at Bayern than Wirtz at Pool

Probably yes. I think pool bought unnecessary amount of players. So many will get benched now with Isak there too.

Lucho is more guaranteed to play and has a great work rate. However it wouldn't surprise me if he'd repeat his liverpool-city game two seasons ago in CL where he wasted like 4 clear opportunities. In Bundesliga it doesn't matter if it would cost them a game or two since they will probably win the league by a huge margin anyway.
It's tighter in CL. Don't know why they bought that guy Jackson, isn't that clinical either.

wirtz they bought for potential but that price tags is insane unless he did it at Bayern or Real Madrid

same with the dude from Newcastle who hopefully will be better than Nunez

Newcastle dude is PL proven at least and he is a striker at one of the top clubs, he will score goals

the swipe at Diaz seems weird

real tough game for Bayern. Winning to a great Harry Kane driven shot from a corner

Hoffenheim are playing with a 5-4-1 formation, high press, tight press. Bayern look slow and sluggish at times while moving the ball and this plays to Hoffenheim's strengths.

Diaz has been trying on the wing but struggles to find space, not a ton going on in general, only 3 shots on goal

    Funny

neither Isaak or Wirtz have done much. Especially Wirtz since he’s played every game

300 mill though. What an upgrade fam

What I don't get is why they followed through with the Isak deal even after they saw how easy etikite found the net. They bought the 5th wheel for 150M.
Only if etikete gets a season long injury is it warranted.

Wirtz is like James, but worse. In the sense that the system has to be built for him

but James doesn’t ever start 7 games without a goal or an assist. No way

Difference is for the same position Wirtz is elite defensively and pressing so if he doesn't carry the offense he's not a huge net negative when they defend. Buying Isak and Etikete both doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'd imagine they weren't sure on getting Isak and once Jota passed away they had to move quicker to make sure they had one of their targets in Etikete and still had the big bet on Isak. I think they are probably looking at each deal in isolation as a good deal, and they may sell one (Etikete) next year if needed. I do think they knew early that they would likely sell Diaz, and wanted to get younger. They don't look better so far without Diaz, Gakpo really is just nowhere near the quality of Diaz.

James wishes he could work like Wirtz.

The downgrade on the left is massive, Gakpo is not a winger imo.

It’s easier to find a guy that runs and presses than a guy that can decide the game with one pass.
Maybe since fitness is my life I’m not as impressed by work rate as others. To me it’s natural and it’s all about effort

but I could never ever for the life of me imagine doing what James or Quinterito do in one moment

Wirtz has only played a few games, I wouldn't count him out yet. Liverpool also play a weird system where their 10 isn't always that involved, Szabolszai is really good and they tuned him into a work horse. Out of the moves they made Wirtz does seem overpriced for what they do with their system, but maybe they will change it. For that money you do want a guy who will have everything run through him or it's probably not worth it.

Everything seems to be working for Slot though. After losing the Community Shield Liverpool have won all their 6 official matches and are already 5 points ahead of Arsenal and Spurs in EPL.
