The guy has created some of the most dominant teams across leagues and over a long period, tactically he's reinvented his game and developed alot of those players into great players. There's nobody who has been able to do what he has, sure people can say look at the teams he's had, but he made alot of those Barca players and if you took any manger in the world and put them in his same coaching roles they don't win and produce the kind of football he has so consistently.

they've had loads of injuries this season, Ruben Dias, Rodri, KDB, Stones, etc. The team in general is not feeling great, you can tell by their body language on the field and its also true that their midfield is getting older.

and yes they'll spend another billion euros just like Real Madrid do every season

Pep is the best, he's the real special one. One of a kind, no doubt about it

he’s obviously a great manager but he is overrated. Hes had the most consistent expensive team ever for many years and only managed 1 CL. He also didn’t develop those city players, they just bought them

he went to Bayern and couldn’t win a CL, though they won a CL right before and right after him.

Barcelona has continued to dominate La Liga after he left. Also won another CL

Madrid hasn’t spent big money in forever

they buy young players and make a big purchase every couple of years

Winning tournaments is not as impressive as dominating a league week after week. There's tons of variance in winning the champions league, of course its important and impressive and a guy like Ancelotti is an amazing manager, but you can't tell me that Ancelotti and City in the same league that those city teams aren't winning the league.

Pep took a shitty Barca team and made them arguably the best team ever, he plucked busquets out of the B team, he turned Xavi and Iniesta into legends and helped mold Messi. The city teams sure they have had money, but they have spent less than United, Chelsea and guys like Foden, KDB, Rodri, Silva were largely developed their top level under him. The accomplishment of winning that many titles year after year in that competitive of a league is a crazy feat that we probably won't see happen ever again, the fatigue and ability to re create tactics and stay one step ahead of your competition is insanely difficult.

I used to be an EPL hater like crzd but one day I woke up and saw it for what it was

Truth is it's definitely the best league out there. Every team there is highly competitive and they almost all have very decent squads

    Eh

    it’s the most marketed league

but their international success is minimal for the “best” league in the world

la liga for example has produced much more CL and Europa league winners

Yup. The level of investment in the league is such that to make a starting XI in England is a very high bar.

For style of play, I enjoy Seria A quite a bit and it tends to favor our players - but as a sheer litmus test, the Prem is where it is. Contrast with La Liga where there is just a massive drop off between the haves and have nots.

But that's just two or three teams. Id agree with Madrid, Barca, Madrid being of equal (maybe better) quality than top Prem teams, but the difference is that the Prem teams are stacked all the way through the top 10-12 sides.

Sini struggles to get time with Bournemouth. I rate him a bunch but if you look at his teams it's competitive for places and they are 13th!

EPL has done a tremendous job bringing that game day energy to the states. Speaking solely on the marketing element, even the camera work for EPL on the Peacock network blows away every league including La Liga and Serie A. It's a lot of close ups, lots of angles, sound quality and fan intensity are all brought right to your living room or closest bar, It's the narrators and local commentators that just beef it all up. They can make even a dull game quite interesting. EPL was pretty much a non factor in the US 7 years ago. Now it's the main recognizable futbol 'brand' for most US households.

But one would think they would dominate Europa league then but they really don’t

it’s a marketing machine and the quality of field and coverage blows every other league away

but football wise is not as above as they tell us it is

No, the most marketed league is MLS

Also, you are talking about international success and I'm talking about the actual English league itself

One more thing, idk how things are going to go in the following stages of this revamped champions league but hopefully it will culminate in a Champions League win for Liverpool.

I still remember the day they got screwed over by that asshole Karius who gifted Real Madrid the game. I went to coconut Grove for the game and had to stand behind typical miami gloryhunting real Madrid fan boys. It was so cringe

I mean city wins 90% of the time and then the talk about how stacked all the other teams are kind of goes out the window when they don’t perform in Europe

Well I don't know what that stat really says. If they were better back then or the league less competitive back then. I think now especially the teams in the lower half of the table has been much stronger. I don't think Palace and Wolves are bad teams in spite of being in relegation spots or close to relegation.

Well I'm not so sure that this has to do with his quality as a player. By now they've probably realized he's made of glass. Even when playing 30 mins tops every week he still gets an injury that puts him out of the pitch for months.

Yes, weather was awful. They went ahead with the game in Birmingham and Duran's goal came in a freezing rain storm and high wind. Thankfully answering the Colombians can't handle weather stigma.

I can't relate to this strange stigma because we are from bogota and it is always cold, gloomy, dark and wet no matter what time of year it us.

Regardless I prefer colder weather too.

haha I was shocked how cold it was in Bogota. Went 2x and will never go again. Day is nice perfect weather then rains beyond freezing point..... you are wet and goes back to being 70 then rains again.

China was also shocking how cold bejing is. First time I ever had to wear thermal underwear even that wasnt as helpful. Felt like someone was punching your chest while you walked.

I'm sure it has to do with Bogota being located up in the sky next to the mountains, nowhere near the ocean. It's cool though because the weather never really drops too low, so it does get rather cold and the rain makes it feel worse than it is but really I don't think it will ever drop below 50 degrees at worst

I've been to Canada in the winter too so I've experienced proper freezing weather and it was so cold it actually made me physically ill even though personally I rather enjoyed the weather.

California is also pretty cold. I went in march because my wife had a medical conference. She then wanted to take a few days off to do some famous drive from LA to San Francisco. It was super cold. It was march.... I will say that but I live in Connecticut where it snows and took my north face jacket and was still cold. The wind is what gets you. As for the trip my wife really enjoyed it. I drove for 3 days around a mountain...... so didnt really see much. Sometimes feel women troll us
