Yeah after that really long injury he had 2 seasons ago I was almost certain he would turn into sinisterra or cuadrado or falcao injury-wise. It's pretty rare for a player to have such a long injury and then come back and stay healthy for a whole season or several seasons. Thank God that didn't happen.

City loosing 4-0 at home to spurs.
Fantastic Result for Liverpool. If they manage to win tomorrow they will be 8 points clear at the top of the table and have a really good chance of Luchos first EPL title.

If he still is in bad shape in tomorrows game I hope Gakpo and the other guys can step up. Great great news for the reds.

No guajaro time today. Benched, probably because Arnie wants to keep him from after internationals. Liverpool win today would be huge since City are not doing great this season

Personally, I don't like it. Feel like he's been getting less minutes and Arnie prefers Gapko. We'll see if he starts today in CL.

Dutch coaches are nepotists. Lucho still gets his minutes which is not bad, because he's not getting burned like other stars, but I have the feeling that if Liverpool wins a tournament, he will be expendable.

Personally I like it, prevents him from getting millions of injuries which colombians love getting and also pushes him to remain motivated and fight to compete at the highest level.

Regardless everyone knows Gakpo is inferior to Diaz, especially on the wing

Either way Liverpool-city is 10 times more important than this game. If I had to pick I prefer lucho playing vs city.
This may be interesting only for the damage it can do to real, not so much about what the reds can gain. To me they are already qualified even with a loss.

Very entertaining game. Liverpool won Díaz very close to scoring but Courtois made a fantastic save.
Real in 24th spot. I hope they keep losing points so they'll be eliminated in first round

Fantastic win over city. Lucho won the penalty for the second goal.

This is so weird. Before the season people were talking about Klopps legacy and how difficult it would be to replace him. Now Slot takes over, doesn't sign a single player (except chiesa who never plays).
So he basically plays the same guys as the season before and does much much better. I know the season isn't over yet, but he has proved himself the better coach this far. In less than 6 months.

I don't know about that. Klopp built a great team and developed great players. He got tired.

Slot is coming in and benefiting from that. Pep's side looks exhausted now, doesnt mean he is suddenly bad coach ...

Yeah it's hard to build a team and keep the players motivated and your tactics from getting stale. You see that all the time, Klopp kind of took them as far as he could, and new ideas and some new tactics and a new voice can make a big difference. Let's see Slot after 6 years what it looks like, but Slot also came in and benefited from all the work and squad Klopp built.

Yup, he really strengthened his Dutch friends too, Gravenberch and Gakpo.

He took Klopp's team changed their style a bit and became unstoppable.

It's good to have a little variety

Yeah this has nothing to do with Klopp. Klopp had some amazing seasons and runs and had to deal with an invincible city

city sucking now is not Klopps fault
Also, Klopp built and developed this team. Pool was trash before he got there

Btw, no one liked Arnie before the season. Fans from other clubs were mocking the signing and look at how things have gone now

Well he was there 8-9 seasons and won one EPL and one CL. If Slot manages to do the same in only 1-3 seasons with the same players to me he's the better coach. That's what matters to me. Not a string of second or third places.
Still like Klopp though I'm just not as sentimental about the guy. Who knows if Slot could be as consistent over 8-9 seasons but I don't care about that.

    Nothing is won yet though.

Liverpool lost the title while having point totals in the 90s. City being invincible and all of the sudden sucking is not a reflection on Klopp

I was psyched for him given what he had done with Sini at Feyenoord.

Those Liverpool teams were insane, the fact that City and Liverpool were super teams doesn't really have anything to do with Klopp. Klopp did an amazing job with what he could control, he has no control over City having the best manager ever and being unlucky that they lined up at the same time. This city team without Rodri isn't that good, Rodri is the best player in the world and is like 3 players in midfield.

Pep was never the best manager ever

he HAS to have a CLEARLY superior roster to win and even then only produced one CL

the fact is that City had 2 or 3 teams in their roster and were impossible to beat over a league campaign

but it isn’t just about Rodri. Haaland is slumping as is KDB and Silva. They’ve just gotten a bit older and the sanctions have prevented them from spending another billion to replace them
