I think Slot is preparing for life after Salah, will probably see Lucho shifted right and Gakpo on the left. Gakpo is playing well right now and having his moment, it's good coaching to let the hot hand play building his confidence and giving Diaz spots to rest and keep him fresh for a long season. Lucho looked really tired today in the 2nd half. A bit surprised they didn't take him off. Hope he comes back from the eliminatorias in good shape so they don't drop any silly points against southampton. That would be so uncool after this pole position they've managed to get into.

 

A player as healthy as him, I am sure they'll adapt to any fatigue when he joins the national team during the qualifiers. He just needs to spend the days resting and doing some partial exercises prior to the day of the game.
