Maybe back then my friend but not the case nowadays. Real Madrid can’t compete (financially) with teams like Man City, PSG or any of these Oil Clubs. If we really look at our recent transfers they’ve been due to our pull. Tchouameni, Camavinga and Bellingham ALL had astronomical offers from EPL clubs but they chose Madrid which helps facilitate the transfers for less. Not to mention players we pull on free transfers like Rudiger and Alaba.

Wow. Scored again! Even if it's an easy tap in how often did this happen under Klopp? I only remember Diaz scoring twice in a game when they beat bournemouth 9-0.

Maybe Slot can help him score more goals and all the BS of him not being clinical will reduce. Promising first game.

Nico is staying with Bilbao. They even gave him Iker Muniain's number

I still don't believe they can afford a guajaro

After watching pools first game I don't know what I want anymore. Sure it's a risk that he'll be benched if he stays but maybe slot can get more out of Díaz than Klopp could. It's worth a try. I think he still has a crappy pay though compared to the other players.

It is just so much pressure on a new manager following a legend at a prestigious club.
    Odds are against him.
Not saying it would be the worst situation in the world to stay cause it is still traditionally a top 5 team in one of the beast leagues. Just that the odds are the team might have some bumps in the road and growing pains adjusting to a new manager and way of doing things.

hope lucho starts the season off strong. worried about slot going with the fellow dutch man in gakpo to start instead of Lucho.

Darwin is a way better goal scorer than Santos Borre.
(Not saying much but it is true.)

Omg Díaz with an awful miss. As usual great with the dribbling but he just can't relax in these situations.

yea but Nunez is 100x better at every single aspect of the game than Borre

also Nunez was Colombias best player vs Uruguay. He saved 4 clear 1 on 1 chances :)

I wonder what's going to happen with Diaz the 2 weeks that are left if Barca keep pushing. Must be really difficult for the coach, as great as he is creating chances and doing his runs, he really is mediocre with the final balls. He misses sitters or the assist or makes the wrong decision. Happened 3-4 times in the 2nd half.

I have confidence in the new coach though. I think they maybe won't score as many goals as under klopp but they won't receive as many either. And hopefully not going down in the first 10-15 minutes that happened so many times last season.
So it's a good place to be but must be tough on the guy with all the abuse and being questioned all the time. Colombian press writes he plays fantastic and English fans/press pointing out his poor finishing all the time.
