Lucho has a new teammate! 😀🤝— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 11, 2022 Three observations: 1. Decisive move by Liverpool getting their man early in the transfer window and cutting ahead of United who were apparently hot for the Uruguayan. Gives Klopp options with Mane out, you'd assume if they extend Salah that the trident of Lucho-Salah-Darwin is going to be a lot for anyone to defend. 2. If you can't beat em join em! Darwin had never defeated Lucho in their long rivalry at club level in Portugal and then the CL. Now he doesn't have to worry about that anymore! 3. Huge for Pipe Sierra to be getting pounds from Fab on this stuff. He has really legitimized his brand over the past two windows.
He isn’t proven enough for that amount of money hope he does well but they should have just doubled Manes wages to keep him happy.
When have Klopp and Liverpool ever made any bad signings ? Can’t think of any in the last few years Anyways , Mane is in decline anyways .. he’s not a patch on the player from two or three years ago
Crzd he's Uruguayan...they don't need to prove anything like Brazilians or Argentinian folk because of where they're from.
Mane's good but with his profile and athleticism his value will most likely drop hard past 30, and he wanted to go so you got to let him. Nunez has huge potential and is already showing really good ability now, in this market a player with this profile that price is fine and Liverpool already have a replacement front 3 to rely on and they won't get their feet held to the fire by Salah and Mane and keep their wage structure.
🔴 Luis Díaz played a few minutes yesterday in a match at the reopening of the Federico Serrano Soto Stadium in Riohacha, La Guajira. An iconic moment👀 He scored a goal and people invaded the field to hug him. The pride of his land 🇨🇴 pic.twitter.com/BUTBX6fIdq— Pipe Sierra (@PSierraR) June 18, 2022
Moments like these has to keep him motivated and humble. He must always remember what he means to Colombian and where he came from humble beginnings.
I heard on the grapevine that Liverpool intend to change their system to 4 /2 /3 / 1 to get the best out of new striker Nunez and it will also mean a new role for Firmino just behind Nunez in the three - with Salah on the right and Diaz on the left .. Sounds like a fabulous idea !!
So a Liverpool squad that has been tearing it up for years is going to change their shape to accommodate the younger "unproven" new acquisition. Doesnt sound like Klopp. Way to wise and knows the player earned heirarchy and what it would do to the rest of his soldier's ego. In fact, I wouldnt be shocked if Nunez eats a lot of bench his 1st year. And what if you build this new system and your main guy gets injured or just doesnt work? Why tear up what works and just make better tweaks. Germans love structure, dependability, and accountability more than anything.
Klopp used that system when they were going all out attack and needed a goal, I can't see him making that the formation to accommodate Firminho who didn't play all that much this last season and they probably hit their peak in terms of performance during that time. Their whole system relies on their midfield 3 pressure and pressing, taking Mane out of the team probably hurts their pressing somewhat and taking a midfielder out of the mix as well seems unlikely as the default system. Nunez is good, but if you don't adapt to the system quickly Klopp has shown he'll hold a player back and give them time until they do, see Thiago, Keita and Fabinho.

Played 90 minutes before being subbed out and they scored a goal. Another trophy for him but I am concern that he's not having a direct impact in these trophy winning matches. I hope that he gets a chance to influence in such big games as we need him to have that form and mentality one day.
He has slotted in perfectly but I still kinda worry that he’s just not scoring often enough .. Hopefully if he gets a couple he will start scoring for fun
He's doing exactly what Juegen wants and ran his socks off today. Just needs to keep his focus and he will continue to be a starter on one the best teams in the world.
Sure. He's scored when it mattered for Liverpool last year, contributing to their making it to the CL and credited for energizing the second half of their season. This was their first competitive match of the season, he played well and they won. He'll get his goals.
