Regarding Atalanta, you have to take in account that the club from Bergamo is a smallish side, that gained notoriety on a string of good years, but overall a mid table team, in a league that has fallen mightily in the last decade or so... OTOH Bayern is one of the top 5 Euro teams, assembled to win the UCL, favored by a shorter calendar and with enough depth to keep their top players injury free.

Diaz got hit twice and he ended up losing the ball. He could have blown the whistle twice on that play but chose not to.
