I am puzzled, should our priority not be acquiring another defender or two and not a 34 year old midfielder?

well considering that this team is dead maybe it has to do with the link to his last name being a perfect description for the team.

is it true that he can play as a central midfielder? if so, sign him up right away. Apparently Winter said that we can get him for next to nothing

This could be a trap. Winter and Co. needs to look at Boa Morte very closely if he can be competitive enough, both physically and mentally.

Not sure what the opposition is here. If he is judged to be an asset he will be signed. Obviously no one on this forum has enough insight on this guy to judge if his character will be a detriment to the team so suggesting that it will be is akin to suggesting what the next line up will be. I would completely understand complaints if he was injury prone or had a bad eye but attitude adjustments are easily remedied. Unless of course you are Joey Barton. Depth is something we need in the team and experience like this guy has does not come around at every corner. At the very least the knowledge he can pass on to the youth in TFC could be worth his salary.

the question is, will TFC end up wasting an international spot on a bench player

I am not so sure if you really want to pick this guy up. That post above is a pretty fair assessment.

Unless the braintrust has other possibilities in the works, I'd say there isn't much to lose by signing him. I thought he looked good in the reserves yesterday with one really top notch sequence setting up Cordon followed by another strong play that ended up offside.

If the price is right, I'd take a chance on him.

That's better than on the wing I guess, but I wonder if he can play DM as well...either way, any midfield or wing position is pretty well covered for now. It's the defense and center forward position that need depth

Not me although Wiki (ya I know it's Wiki) refers to his playing position as "left winger, centre midfielder". That is where he played in this match and he seemed comfortable and confident.

does anyone know when we would be able to sign him? can we sign him whenever since he's currently a free agent, or do we have to wait for the MLS summer transfer window to open. And if so, when does it open?

If he is currently out of contract we can sign him at any time.
