I thought Landin played very well today. More time with the team and he will shoe everyone why we brought him to Houston.

    I thought so too.

I laughed when he was about to go for a through ball but stopped and looked at the linesman and grinned because he KNEW he would have been offside.

He did play better today but we need this guy in shape to play 90 minutes. Hopefully he will work hard in the off season to get into shape. The real test for his commitment will be when he comes into preseason in February to see what kind of shape he will be in. We will see.

Great game today by Landin. He was creative and we needed that.

He is so solid on the ball. This is something that I don't recognize in MLS enough. Landin makes you comprehend how good he is on the ball.

Yea we saw that too. And toward the end of the game he was laughing a lot at other things too.

What's up with this guy? Is he injured? Why didn't he play on Sunday? Will he be playing against the Galaxy on Friday?

this article states that landin will be considered a DP due to salary next year.

I thought the consensus was due to loan fees Landin was classified as a DP in 2009 but that his overall contract was not quite into the DP salary range for the upcoming season.

    http://www.socceramerica.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Articles.showArticleHomePage&art_aid=35810

"...while striker Luis Angel Landin, whose salary next season will be high enough to make him a Designated Player, will be on loan to Houston until the end of 2010, after which he can be signed to a permanent contract or returned to Mexico."

I think his salary was pro-rated which is why it seemed low.

That kind of makes it sound like he was bought on Amazon.com and can be returned for store credit

Wow, hopefully that will buy a dietician and conditioning coach. It will be very interesting to see what kind of fitness he brings in for the coming season. This will determine if he will have an opportunity to succeed next year.

its strange that ridge mahoney knows, but the 2 local guys (Bernardo & Glenn) don't. either mahoney is pulling it of his ass or bernardo/glenn are being shut out by the Dynamo for information. which one do you believe? the truth is that MLS is so secretive with this sht that we won't know for sure until the salaries come late in 2010, so as of now we're all just guessing.

    link? :D

in your nalgas.. this is a scoop.. no link required.
This person checks his trash and reports back to us.

Just stop by his condo in the Galleria and check him out yourself. I know Offy, Katy or Jeremiah can get you his address.

Wouldn't he be back in Mexico with his wife and new baby? Wasn't that one of the reasons the guy was not all there this year because he kept flying back to Mexico every week to check on his wife?

Re: Luis Angel Landin Player Thread

That's funny... I was talking with Abe Thompson at the award program, I was asking him where people live when they come in late in the season like he did. He told me the team arranges to get him an apartment, I was joking and asked if he shared one with Landín. He laughed and said Landín has his own condo in a high rise in the Galleria area. Not too shabby. But I hope they have a gym nearby....

dude, i was joking. i know you got some dirt and you don't kid that why i was asking hence the smiley face.

but by the way, i wouldn't hold it against a player for not training around this time regardless if he has fitness issues or not. a lot of players (most) use the offseason to have the recoup period that they do not get during the season. eat away Luis, because come January/February your fat ass is going to be running it off in camp.
