    apparently gonzales

    will only play libertadores
he hasnt been signed for the national league

he will probably get game time against rosario next week

our top scorer is out for 2 weeks so gonzales should come on to the field in the second half

I've never heard of only being signed for one competition and not another. Except in the case of being cap-tied of course.

Common in Libertadores. couple years ago, CA America had Chilean player Navia on loan for only the Libertadores.

I believe Gonzales started in Alianza's 5-0 drubbing of Cristal this weekend, so this is appears to be BS. Cristal decided to save their good players for Rosaio in the CL.

my bad it was urugayan gk roverano that was only signed for libertadores

till his peruvian naturalization comes trough at the end of march

gonzales once again created a penalty which the captain soto scored
gonzales came in to the game in the second half

    the final score was

sporting cristal 4 rosario central 1

Kinda impressive that Luchi went from starting for a club in the Swedish 2nd to making a subs appearance in the Libertadores. I've seen some clips of Luchi and noticed that he's got some untapped potential as a player. Did he pass on MLS or did MLS pass on him. I know we was drafted, but what happened to his opportunity in MLS.

He was on San Jose's bench in 2002 and played a total of 47 minutes over 8 games (thanks MLSNet).

Awesome stuff condor... Haven't been able to keep up, as i've been quite busy the last few days....I happen to be a fan of "la U" but having lived my childhood in "el Rimac" i do not hate Cristal THAT much ;) actually cheer for them in Libertadores

Condor: Have you checked the thread about the "new Yank"? Apparently this forward of Ecuadorian descent, born in California, is the leading scorer for the Ecuadorian league so far...And he has no ties to Ecuador's NT

For those of Peruvian/ Ecuadorian descent: wouldn't it be something if Figueroa/Gonzales ended up as part of the forward bubble for the US? It'd be even cooler if they ever got to play together, even if for only a friendly...I find even the possibility quite cool

Edit: My bad, condor, I asssumed that you lived here in the US....I do not know if you ever been around here, but here in New Jersey, there are big Peruvian and Ecuadorian communities (both being the largest communities of such nationalities outside the countries themselves)...and we have always gotten along very well...... as opposed to how thing are portrayed domestically in each country (mostly in years past) where there was a lot of animosity between each other
