Great article from KSL on Lucas and what he is trying to do by playing in the PDL and on the BYU vs Mobsters game. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=35...-helps-las-vegas-pdl-squad-to-2-2-draw-at-byu
Todd, great updates. Do you make it to every match or just get updates from an "insider" (aka Lucas)? Thanks
I have made it to three of the matches and watched most of the rest online. The team is playing some good soccer and I believe getting stronger. I think the main thing for lucas playing with this team is that he has gained some muscle mass in order to compete with the older bigger players. A really fantastic experience for Lucas. Up tomorrow at730 the division leaders and actually the team with the most points in the PDL Albuquerque sol
Sorry I have been busy so here is the latest update. Lucas and the mobsters are on a 3 game win streak with Lucas adding a goal and assist in that run. They sit in third place and are peaking at the right time. Lucas has only three regular season games left and they are coming off there most dominating win of the year 4 to 0 over BYU. Next game Saturday hosting Real Colorado.
The mobsters finish with a winning home record but lose their last home game 2 to 0 and are eliminated from the playoffs. There is one road trip left to California but Lucas might not go and make sure that he is healed up and ready to start college soccer here in a few weeks. It was a fun and great experience for Lucas to play in Las Vegas and something that will add to his soccer experience and IQ. Now he is totally focused on being in the best condition of his life to go and play for his college Utah Valley University this fall.
Mobsters finish with a 500 record if you count their win over Tijuana FC and Lucas finish with a team tied leading goals of four. The team showed great improvement over last year and Lucas was a big part of that . Some great relationships were built with some players that will be playing against Lucas this year at UNLV. Lucas will be back in Utah in a couple of weeks and ready to go with UVU on August 1. Big fall season for Lucas and then we will see what happens after that. Lucas will look at all options.
Excited for UVU soccer ! This blast from Lucas last year against Denver was one of the highlights of the season. In real time the shot so fast and hard it was difficult to follow the ball.

Although this is a soccer blog about Lucas I also forgot to mention that Lucas made the WAC Athletic Academic Honor Roll for his Freshman year. Congrats to Lucas!!! http://wolverinegreen.com/news/2015/7/1/BB_0701153617.aspx?path=baseball
Lucas is now down at UVU in his team apartment. The team is beginning the campaign with 3 freshmen about 22 sophomores and a couple of juniors. Lucas reports great team unity and sense of purpose and Lucas feels like he is in the best shape of his life. His summer experience with the Las Vegas Mobsters should pay some great dividends this fall.
