No thread for the American Eredivisie player of the year? He starts in the midfield against Feyenoord today. They are being outplayed late in the first half but scoreless.
Subs warming up for Heracles - they're being outplayed, but if a midfielder is going to come off, it will probably be Vloet who strained his hamstring, from the look of it.
De la Torre beaten with a great 1-2 and a blasted shot for the 1-0 for Feyenoord, though all of the blame will fall on the goalkeeper - although there was a ton of pace on it, it looked like a shot anyone should save most of the time. Maybe he was deceived by some swerve on the shot.
Luca off very late for an additional striker, as both teams overload on offense to try to steal the win. Quiet game from him, but they did well to play the midfield battle much more even in the second half than the first, even with the injury to Vloet.
Luca starts vs AZ Alkmaar, Midfielder shading left in a 4-3-3. They are being outplayed halfway through the first half, but it's 0-0.
AZ go up 1-0 as Boadu has a rebound fall right to him in front of a goal mouth that only includes a pron keeper. De la Torre and the entire defense caught a little flat-footed and a step slow through the passing sequence that led to it.
They got crushed in the second half and lost 5-0. Stopped watching at 2-0, but LDLT was disappointingly quiet in the part I watched.
0-0 vs Ajax late. 72': LDLT blasts on frame from about 15, Pasveer able to knock it away and Heracles fouls trying to get the rebound.
79': LDLT does well to shake off a shirt tug and make a nice pass up the line, subsequent pass up the line was also good and set up a 1 v 1 but the run was started early and called offside.
82': Excellent shot block by Quagliata to stop a point blank opportunity, loose ball falls to LDLT who clears.
Looks like he's LDM in a 4-2-3-1, little different from a 4-3-3 that I last saw them use, but maybe that's just Ajax being better than their other opponents.
Blaswich excellent save of a Tadic header - didn't seem like he actually had time to react, then he suddenly made a move.
No LDLT content, but 88th minute counter definitely could have been a game winner but for an excellent interception by Schuurs.
Full time. Good point, though they had a chance for more. Still, to get a shut out here after Ajax's last two matches (Ajax 4 Dortmund 0 and Ajax 5 PSV 0) has to be deemed a positive.
This buy balled his ass off today. Never. made a bad pass and played defense as well as anyone on his squad. Got a point again Ajax. Went 95'. Outstanding.
Normally Heracles, supported by their excellent condition, chase down their opponents, pushing up high. Against Ajax that invites you to get the ball dropped behind your midfield and then be blitzed off. They now chose to play a more compact formation and chase agressively the guy with the ball. In the first half LdlT covered the longest distance of all players with an impressive 6.8 km! That of course was necesary to prevent Ajax midfield to do their thing.
Early second half, Luca yanks down a Vitesse attacker in the corner of the box. Odd decision. Yellow card to Luca, and penalty converted for Vitesse. 2-1 to Vitesse.
Luca started a last minute attack dribbling past two and finding the open man, and the play ended with a quality shot on goal saved, probably clinching it. Luca one of the goats on the day because of the conceded penalty.
