As we near the end of the season, it is useful to see who looks like they will be promoted. 1st Division Promotion: With 3 matches left here is where the top 6 teams stand: Basel II 62 YF Juventus Zurich 60 Schaffhausen 59 Sion II 46 Kriens 43 FC Zurich II 42 Neither Sion II nor Basel II can be promoted, although it looks like Basel II will win the league. In fact of the 4 youth teams in the 1st Division, three are in the top 6 and only FCSG II is not doing great, they are currently 12th with 27 points. It looks like either YF Juventus Zurich or Schaffhausen will be the team promoted, but YF is still waiting to see if they will recieve their license on the second try. YF schedule - @ Fribourg (27 points) vs Yverdon (11 points) @ Schaffhausen (59 points) Schaffhausen schedule: vs Basel II (62 points) @ Tuggen (41 points) vs YF (60 points) Advatage YF.
1st Division Classic From what I remember only two teams will be promoted, with the top two teams in each group winners and the best two best teams that remain qualify for a play-off. Group 1: Le Mont LS 59 * Terre Sainte 48 * YB II 45 * Meyrin 45 * Echallens 41 Group 2 Baden 53 * Fc Koinz 46 * FC Grechen 40 Black Stars 38 Serrieres 37 Group 3 Zug 47 * Cham 44 * Fc Wettswil-Bonstetten 40 Eschen/Mauren 35 Mendrisio-Stabio 33 * = Playoff teams
1st Division Promotion Fribourg - YF Juventus 0-1 Schaffhausen - Basel II 4-0 Bretitenrain - Sion II 1-1 Kriens - FCSG II 1-1 Yverdon - Tuggen 1-3 FCZ II - Delemont 1-1 YF Juventus Zurich 63 Schaffhausen 62 Basel II 62 Sion II 47 Kriens 44 Tuggen 44 FC Zurich II 43 Two match days left. YF Juventus and Schaffhausen have locked up the top two spots that can be promoted. The only remaining issue is who will win between the three. The last day sees Schaffhausen host YF. That one should be fun!
Group 1: Le Mont LS 60 * YB II 48 * Terre Sainte 48 * Meyrin 45 * Echallens 44 Group 2 Baden 53 * Fc Koinz 49 * FC Grechen 43 Black Stars 39 Serrieres 37 Group 3 Zug 48 * Cham 45 * Fc Wettswil-Bonstetten 40 Eschen/Mauren 38 Mendrisio-Stabio 36 * = Playoff teams
Servette and Etoile Carouge are having a deal this Saturday. All Servette season ticket fans get free admission to the Etoile Carouge match at 4pm and all Etoile Carouge season ticket holders get free admission to the Servette match at 7:30 that same evening.
Yf is home vs Yverdon, this should be a victory for them. Schaffhausen is at Tuggen, it should be a victory for them. Than leaves next weeks match between the two at Schaffhausen as the de facto championship match.
As expected YF Juventus crushed Yverdon 6-0 and Schaffhausen defeated Tuggen away 0-1. Basel II also won against Old Boys. The standings are now as follows: YF 66 Schaffhausen 65 Basel II 65 With a massive tilt to determine the champion on 25 May. Schaffhausen vs YF. Basel could still win if they defeated Bruhl and the other two drew the final match.
Schaffhausen wins at home over YF 2-1 and Basel II destroys SC Bruch 1-5. Final standings look this way: Schaffhausen 68 points +46 Basel II 68 +43 YF Juventus 66 +46 Sion II 50 +18 Tuggen 47 +4 FCZ II 44 +9 Kriens 44 +5 Delemont 38 -3 Old Boys 37 -6 Stade Nyonnais 33 -8 Breitenrain 33 -23 SC Bruhl 32 -16 FCSG II 32 -19 Etoile Carouge 32 -19 Fribourg 31 -19 Yverdon 11 -60 Even a 3-2 win over Sion II could not keep them up as Etoile Carouge got a 3-3 away draw at FCZ II. Both Fribourg and Yverdon are relegate. Schaffhausen returns to the Challege league.

Interesting development in the Promotion League. Le Mont 44 Tuggen 43 Fc Koinz 40 Etoile Carouge 40 The manager of Etoile Carouge was fired yesterday for loosing two matches. The were against fellow promotion chasers Le Mont and Koinz.
Promotion League Tuggen 46 Le Mont 44 * Koniz 41 * YF Juventus 40 * Etoile Carouge 40* Tuggen in the drivers seat, but they have played one more match than the other 4. 5 matches left. In the 1st Division Classic the group leaders are: Dudingen Xamax (with a 20 point advantage) Eschen/Mauren I would be very surprised if Xamax were not promoted this year.
With Xamax well ahead and cruising to promotion... where will they be promoted too? Also how many more promotions until they reach the Challenge League?
There will be a playoff that they should win, but they might face a point deduction and fine due Ultra fan behavior last week in Baden. They will go to 1st League Promotion next season if promoted, then Challenge League is the next step.
That would be a pretty quick return to the top 2 tiers... all the best to them and there supporters... A point deduction and fine shouldn't hurt them I think as it looked like they were well ahead in the standings.
Of the 4 Promotion League teams that tried, only two received their license and can be promoted. Etoile Carouge and FC Le Mont (LS) can be promoted. YF Juventus and FC Köniz were denied on the first and second instances. Promotion League title hunt: FC Köniz 47 - 2 matches left Fc Le Mont 47 - 2 matches left YF Juventus 46 - 2 matches left Tuggen 46 - 2 matches left Etoile Carouge - 43 - 2 matches left
In something from " I have never heard about that before" area. On Friday after a match between FC Malley and FC Sierre/Siders, players from Dardinia Lausanne confronted the FC Malley players and coach. They ended up getting into a fight and the Sierre coach had to get stitches.
