I get kind of nostalgic for those first year Rapids. I think Benedetti was an A-League left over who just got lucky in MLS' first year.

IIRC, he did score one or two nice goals, but I also remember him skying some shots over the bar. Quick, not a bad winger, but pales in comparison to even a player of Denton's quality. :D

    Gave him the love though.

He was mostly empty space as a Rapid, but he's also a former Colorado Foxes player which puts him over the edge onto the "loved" side.

I remember him causing John Harkes some trouble in a game.

He had hair like Ted Danson.

Although I'd have to say it's thinning since he was a Rapid.

Still got the soccer mojo though. He was playing for the Portland Timbers last year. wow.

    Here's a bio on him

Proof of Steve Sampson's lunacy from the bio above.

Dude has a cap, holy crap!!

I believe that cap was a strike game, when the top-tier of players were holding out for more money from USSF.

Love him or hate him, he did have durability. He was still playing last year at 38 and still had his moments.

And how about this for something you don't see everyday, actual video of Scott scoring a goal, a nice strike against Puerto Rico back in 2004:
